Yes, I too was wondering how things were going - also how are mealtimes in the household.

I wonder why I seem to be the only person who doesn't like this dish.  I even tried Antonio Carluccio's recipe and that didn't do it for me either.  Different strokes for different folks it appears.

Don't think you would get too many volunteers at all Helene. By the way, just had a look at your website and would like to thank you for all the lovely thinks you wrote about us Aussies.
Andie - what in life have you not experienced ???  What a journey you have been on and an autobiography would make for very interesting reading indeed.

Vegetarian / Re: Mashed Potatoes - the best way ?
« on: February 03, 2010, 01:09:59 pm »
I did Nico's version the other night but the TM bowl was so much harder to clean than when the diced potatoes are cooked in the steaming basket and only put in the bowl for the mashing process.
Bellesy, I find 100mls stock + 100g milk far too much liquid so have only been adding a little milk and butter, checking it after a few seconds and adding more liquid until I get the consistency I want.  If you want to use some stock, I would just use some of the 'potato water'.

Thanks for testing this one Chelsea - like your tweaks. Did you chop the onion for that long on such a high speed, it would have been mush or is that what it is supposed to be like in this particular sauce Thermomixer?

Have you tried white sugar to compare the difference?

Yeah that did come across a bit angry JD but not intended. Just a bit frustrated! I'm generally a happy, casual person who is very easy to get along with!  :D

Not at all riv_mum.  I like feisty/angry to get your point across.  The Carers' Asscn has a meeting soon to teach us to be more assertive when dealing with our service providers.  Boy am I going to be dangerous after that meeting  :-)) :-))

Darls, I have recently found that spraying a silicon muffin tray and freezing portions in them is a quick and easy way as they just pop out when you need them.  Freeze then remove from the silicon form and place into plastic bags until needed.

Drawer only has small things in it now.  All large items have been transferred to a cupboard in a box - will have to get a cane basket which fits the cupboard.  Learn from my mistake folks  :D :D

We had this for tea tonight riv_mum and it was delicious - thanks so much for posting the recipe. I used a pack of 3 chicken steaks from Foodland so they were a lot thinner than chicken fillets.  Cooked them 15 minutes, placed in the thermosaver with the snow peas that had been cooking in the varoma tray and continued cooking the carrot and pumpkin in the steaming basket & the cauliflower in the varoma tray. Need another 10 minutes cooking before I made the delicious sauce.  Have enough sauce leftover to accompany another dish. I reheated some mashed potato from yesterday in the microwave.  Yum!  :-* :-*

Wasting an entire morning on your computer Cookie1, I wasted entire days trying to install my printer and was on the phone to the Philippines for hours on end in the beginning but nothing worked. The last chap said he was an expert but I doubted it as I had spoken to many 'experts' but indeed he was and with his help we put in all sorts of figures & letters for a good 20 minutes and hey presto it worked.  He said it happens very rarely but why did it have to happen to me, a completely illiterate computer operator.  Glad I wasn't paying for those phone calls. It stressed me out so much I would just burst into tears at the drop of a hat but I stuck with it and now, although it still takes up a lot of my time, I wouldn't say it was wasted. The only other trouble I had was when Microsoft disconnected quite a few people's printers but fixed the problem the next day.

You will be a computer whiz in no time Cookie1. :-* :-*

Maybe he means for you to beat the eggs and cheese and just add that to the pasta & ham sauce which is sitting in the thermoserver.  The heat would then cook the egg mixture. That's my take on it anyway.  Thermomixer, where are you  ??? ??? ??? ???
