As long as it will work for you all long term, that's great. Just be aware if you're cutting out good fats, you'll lose fat from areas that you don't necessarily want to - e.g. face, breasts  :o and bottom (though some may be happy about that!).

I think you guys are aware of what good food is, but most others I've seen (on FB etc) who follow the 5:2 diet have no idea and just eat rubbish on their eating days.

It's definitely not for me, I couldn't be bothered thinking about it!!  ;D
A great cook is one who can rustle up a fabulous family meal with some freezer burnt chops, wilted carrots, sprouting potatoes and cabbage that's gone brown on the cut edges.

I have some good cheap Apps that really help.  Can send them to you or post here .  Certainly give it a go. Don't expect to lose weight fast.  About 1/2 k per week.

Please post apps  here Chookie, I think the health benefits are becoming more obvious as it is being studied, not just weight loss.

I use 4 Apps, 3 relate to 5.2 and the 4th one is Myfitnesspal .  The 5.2 suits our life style as we eat out a fair bit and entertain a lot.  On the 5 days I try not to pig out.
None of the Apps are expensive.
I will try and post photos of what the Apps look like as there are quite a few available,  but these suit me. I have lost 3 1/2 Ks in the last 3 months.  Slow but better than putting it on.
5.2 diet,    This one has a Mauve front page.
5.2 Diet,     This one has a yellow and green front page.  I have taken a photo of the book that the recipes are taken from . The App looks similar
5.2. Buddy,  this is good for keeping a file of the most frequent recipes that you use.  Took me a while to work out how to use this one.  But it is good.
Myfitnesspal  is useful in that you can see your progress on a daily graph.  It also counts the calories in the food you eat each day.  I also try and walk 10.000 steps a day but usually it is between 6 and 8 thousand.
Hope this helps.

Thank you Chookie. It certainly does help  :)

I also like the look of this this website (which I think was mentioned here earlier). The spicy tomato soup is very nice!!!

Yoga is on Monday nights so Monday/Tuesday will be my days.

More ideas and economical too.

After being ill I found I have lost a bit so I am just trying the eating better tactic as we did last year and my fitness pal.
I don't think I could cope with 5:2 just now.

Will report. Lost 4lbs so far.  ;D

Initially I did as well and as I eat fairly fast, I thought I was on a winner here  :D :D
