We are hitting the road to Naracoorte this morning for a polocrosse tournament this weekend.
I have just whizzed up a batch of brownies to keep the blood sugar up between games!! ;D

I've been playing with another of my Grandma Ena's recipes;

Bebinca de leite.

How is it normally cooked?  Just wonder whether to cook the milks and butter at higher speed like in dulce de leche until they thicken and then add the cornflour and eggs mixed together and go at lower temp - 80 deg - till cooked?

You bung the whole lot in a large pot and stir over a low heat until the wooden spoon can stand up in the pot :)

Naw missed posting yeterday :) we made the Hazelnut Spread from the 09 EDC I only used 80g chocolate and 20g Cocoa and it is perfect for me, made some strawberry jam from the EDC too, um don't ever double it and crank it up to varoma unattended :D, also made our own tortillas and mexican mince for burritos and a muesli slice that I don't like, must find a crunchy baked one!

Today we have made some bread and ice cream from the EDC so far... (its only 10am here).

I hope Isi is noticing the theme here...She's one popular lady at our house too.  I've had bread breakfast, lunch and dinner as it is just sooo good.

Today I made Chow Mein & mashed potatoes then with the leftover lamb mince made some Tangy Lamb patties for tea. Not generally a meatball/patty person but these were very nice and the makeshift sauce I made from freezer scraps really finished them off. Will post the recipe.

After tea I roasted and froze a bag of red capsicums - a messy job out of the way.
Finished the night by making myself a mango dacquiri.

If you ever find a nice crunchy muesli slice, let me know! I've been trying to make muesli bars for years. They just never come out right. Too 'cakey' or gooey.
A great cook is one who can rustle up a fabulous family meal with some freezer burnt chops, wilted carrots, sprouting potatoes and cabbage that's gone brown on the cut edges.

So far a carrot cake, pineapple juice, cream cheese icing, choc chip biscuits, and about to make gnocchi then tomato/bacon/spinach sauce for dinner.

Yesterday we had porridge, juices, rice, Asian chicken stew, vanilla icecream, and a few watermelon/wine cocktails.

Had a busy day today.  Firstly made a carrot & pineapple cake which made enough mixture for a deep 20cm round cake and also 6 x texas muffin sized ones.

Aso made Hungarian Goulash (in the oven) but did the potato and veg in the TM/Varoma, and another Portuguese loaf.
