Bump! I'm interested to hear about any accessories there are by Thermomix itself or complementary gadgets people have discovered a use for. My demonstrator had a mat for rising bread dough but I don't remember if it was a TM thing or not.

No accessories that I am aware of. But the bread mat has been newly revamped in green with the thermomix logo. You can get them from your consultant for $60. They are extremely handy! I use them for everyday baking.

i just thought of something else to recommend to go with it - the tupperware silicone spatula. i think they're about $20 and while you can't use them for mixing while the machine's going (only use the tmx one for that please!) the tw one gets soooooo much more out of the bowl than the tmx one does! i have 4 of them and use them constantly (they're also heat resistant to about 240'c so great for hot stuff too)

Would any silicone spatula from a good homewares shop suffice? I too have trouble getting everything out of the TM bowl with their spatula.

I second the tupperware spatula! It's awesome for getting stuff out of the bowl. And it doesn't get cut by the blades. I was using the spatula for turning pikelets the other day coz I couldn't be bothered finding my egg flip  ;D I hardly use my thermomix one unless I have to stir something in the mixer (like sorbet or something)

Thanks for the info - will have to check out the Tupperware spatulas.

The mats can be purchased from lots of store much cheaper than the TMX ones - but you don't get the logo!! Guess the demonstrators are obliged to buy them ???

My demonstrator told me to get Ikea cleaning brushes- which work well.  Thought that I would try a TMX model - but they ran out.  Does anybody have one - what do you think??

The thing that I found hardest was to find bowls to fit into the Varoma for steaming etc.  I have taken the Varoma into a number of shops and tried different bowls etc.  I wish TMX would develop some specifically for the Varoma - think they would be very useful.

the TM brush is great, especially as its been designed especially to fit in the bowl between the blades, I htink for $5 you cant go wrong, they have just had a new shipment of them so should be more in stock now.  I use mine a lot
the new breadmat is heaps better than the Silpat one I think, its is much much more flexible and feels totally different, can be in temps of over 240 - yes you might be able to get cheaper in a 'kitchen' shop but I think this new one is much better quality, unfortunately I already have 2 Silpat ones so cannot justify getting a new one jsut now! as they Silpat are almost as good!

I use an Ikea brush for the TMX and find it really good. The initial reason was because I couldn't get a TMX brush (the office is miles and miles away and my consultant :-X) so I bought the Ikea one. It does the job well.

Baf65 is right, the new bread mats are awesome...Thermo Mat to be precise. They have far more going for them than a green theme and name. They can be frozen and can be heated to 280oC which is pretty darn hot. They have a smooth finish unlike the Silpat. You will use it every day for so many things. Well worth the investment. :o
