Thanks for all the thoughts on fresh yeast. It certainly looks the way to go if you can get it.

Katesjoy, you could freeze some of the pinwheel. Maybe save you from too many leftovers.

Judy, I think you like the icecream!! It's probably healthier than the Peter's one too. I used to buy that but as you said it is now 1.8 litres and not 2. Grr.
Thanks for the conversion.

It's certainly icecream weather here. It looks good, especially with all the variations.

Yum again.

We had pizza last night and of course I made the dough, but this time I used fresh yeast (thanks VHJ). DH didn't know that I had used it. This morning he asked what I had done differently with the bases as they were nicer this time and easier to cook. (he cooks them in the pizza maker).  The only thing different was the fresh yeast. I was really surprised as I didn't think it would/could make that much difference.
I was wondering what others think?

I knew I was mad making bread today.  I need a solar oven too. We went for a drive up into the hills after lunch to buy some cheap stone fruit. I came home and made a batch of apricot jam as well as 'pigging out' on all the rest of the fruit. The jam is lovely. (Bron's recipe). I bought the dried apricots to do MJ's recipe but they will keep.

Sorbets of various flavours, iced coffee and if I really have too the chicken satays with sauce for dinner. Also made some of Isi's Rustic bread. Looks lovely. It is tooooooooooooooooooooo hot to do much else.
