Valerie, that is amazing. Who would have ever thought you could leave things outside to keep frozen.  It is so different to here.  Thanks for showing us. The magpies must have thought they were in heaven.

Chit Chat / Re: Found a garden to rent;)

Your garden looks lovely Karen. Much better than my brother's who lives over there. Do you live out of Canberra?
I must admit, I also saw that wonderful tidy pantry.

Vivacity, that sounds wonderful I would love to rent some garden somewhere close. We don't have a back yard, ours is at the side and it is full of Model A's and millions of Model A parts. Our only garden is the front and I have my herbs out there, under the olive tree.

Chit Chat / Re: What are you cooking today?

Sorry about that Judy, Amanda, Trudy and others. We tried to take the hot part out before we sent it over!

I haven't done any cooking yet as I have been catching up on housework. (I got a guilty feeling about the house). I'm planning to make heaps of pesto as my basil has gone mad, then the Frangipan slice thing in the calendar and the Festive book. Dinner is a roast as we have a coolish day.  I want to make some more of Isi's bread but the freezer is about to explode.

We love wood too Cathy. DH was a woodwork teacher, but prefers to work with metal-sensible ugh??
All our furniture is jarrah.A bit was inherited from my parents that they had made when they retired to the city. When they died we went to the same place and got the rest made that we needed. It is really beautiful Most is darker than that table as that was the last thing we had made and the guy that made it had trouble getting first quality jarrah for the top of the table so had to take what he could get.  It's heavy heirloom stuff. I love it.

Mine makes the same noise when I make sorbet, or strawberry foam and all the ingredients are up in the top of the bowl and the blades are doing very little. I think it's always done it.  After you had your problems Karen I am now very conscious of all the noises the machine makes.

Bread / Re: Fruit Loaf - with photos

Isn't it amazing?  There are some of us who had never made their bread before, now doing it. Others who gave it a go now and then but didn't do it regularly (me)-all these people are now regularly making their own bread. Thanks TMX.

I used to love kneading the dough as I found it relaxing, but not on hot days. Now Termite does it all.

VHJ you are right. They DIDN'T last long. DH took the last few to car club today.
Thank you for the kind words re the photo.  I find the light etc seems the best on my lovely jarrah table. The colours were just right for this one.

Welcome Rach23.  It's good when recipes get a 'bump' up as if we haven't tried it we get a gentle reminder. I haven't made this yet, but it does look lovely.

I haven't made this.  Come winter or a cooler day I will have to do it with all those recommendations.

Meagan, it was opposite the little old lady that DH helps in the garden!!!!!! He's at car club at the moment, I'll let you know when he arrives home. I haven't got a clue what the name of the street is. Monday we got, plums, apricots and peaches. Last week we couldn't get apricots, but the same with nectarines. It's in Roleystone. It depends what they have been picking. Some of the stuff is horrid, but they do have small trays of things that are too small/large for sale. I paid $6 for about 5kg of apricots . You sort of be selective.

I got a little confused too, thought it may be what people from Ballarat call themselves.

Lovely place Ballarat. I hope you find some like minded souls Welovefood.
