I cooked my rye overnight bread. I started another loaf that Chookie shared with me- it has a cooked flour component. It has been cool here today and it has been very slow rising. I think I may leave it on the bench overnight. The worst that happens is that I will need to make it into breadcrumbs.
Cookie, nothing is wasted. I turned one of my reject loaves into crumbs. I soaked them on milk and added to pork meatballs.
During ISO I have stretched the limits of some recipes and the Chooks have been producing lots of nice eggs.  However three recipes have been very successful.
1.  Jill Duplex’s chicken in bacon and mushroom sauce. I now make double the sauce as it goes lovely over veggies, or rice.
2. The Farmhouse Rustic Bread.  Makes beautiful bread rolls.
3. Pesto made with home grown Rocket and Walnuts and seeds. Not mind blowing like traditional basil rocket but very tasty as a pizza topping. Also added to soup, filling for large mushrooms and topped with cheese. Mixed with soft cheese , as a dip. Will post recipe.

When I got up this morning my dough had risen a great deal! I popped the oven on and cooked it immediately. DH was thrilled as he got to eat all the crusty bits that were on it. I haven't tasted it yet but I will definitely make it again, but in warmer weather where it can rise all in the one day.

Your DH and I have something in common cookie, I love crunchy bits too but he would win the fight over them at the moment as they’re off limits to me.

Not a lot happening here.  I did make some scones and cornflake biscuits yesterday.

Made the Pesto again with Rocket, but used Macadamia nuts and oil.
Also made bread sticks, under baked as will be reheated in AF.
Made buns, placed a flat tray on top for first 10 minutes.

I have some rocket that is seeding at the moment and will make some pesto when the new plants grow. I often put a tray on my bread rolls when we plan to use them for burgers. We like them flat then, so that we can fill the middle up.

DH had ordered sausages in rolls for dinner tonight so I made some rolls. My brother called round so I sent a couple home with him.

Today I’ve done some ‘real cooking’ - a SC chicken & veggie dish and a baked custard. I had a sudden rush of energy to cook something for my friend who will be staying 2 nights to take me to my treatment appointments.
