Hopefully, the worst has passed for SA and Vic. Here in Sydney, it began to blow really early this morning. Lifted the roof of one of the chook pens half off and somehow managed to dislodge the gate with just enough room "for us all to tally ho into the backyard!!" Looks like a barnyard convention out there with all their little cliques with one in particular throwing her weight around and bossing anyone who looks sideways at her. I'll leave them out for the day - takes too much energy to round them up to where you'd like them to be - and when they put themselves to bed later this afternoon I'll make sure everything is more secure!! I'd say winter has arrived . . but at least now the daylight hours are on their way to getting a little longer!
Chookie - hope it all settles down for you to enjoy the last leg of your holiday - it sounds as if you've had a whale of a time so far!
Hope you are able to batten down the hatches GF. And yes at the end of June it looks like the winter weather has arrived.
I am a bit ashamed to say it was the remains of the meat from a lamb roast in a jar of curry sauce plus some frozen okra. DH had a hip replacement today and by the time I got back from the hospital I couldn't be bothered doing much.
Best wishes to DH Bonsai. Apparently up and about asap is the treatment for joint replacements. I occasionally get bumped to orthopaedics and am amazed at how quickly the get them up.

Today we went to The Hunter Valley with DS and fiancée for a wedding expo. We took a picnic lunch. Inspired by Cookies cob loaf she made a while back, I made a cob loaf but didn't have everything on hand that Cookie filled hers with. Made layers of chicken, pesto, camembert and lettuce leaves. Really yummy, thankyou Cookie.
What a gorgeous boy Luka has grown up to be. Sounds as if his lovely nature matches his good looks. We all have times when life becomes busy and we cannot be as involved with the forum as we would like - great to hear from you and know you well.
