I just put my peeled, cored and sliced apples in the TMX with water (half cup?) and sugar (2tbsp?) and cook them on reverse, soft spoon, 100o for about 8 minutes (checking their softness as I go).  :)

Ditto. No sugar here either.

Bernie, I dont know what a pie maker is, but steamed apples are very nice and easy, just peel and quarter them, place them on the tray in the varoma, sprinkle with a little lemon juice and 20 mins Temp Varoma Speed 1. I make these with a cider custard, very nice and healthy!

a pie maker is a bit like waffle / donut machines - but with deeper holes to make pies.

The cider custard sounds good.

Thanks for that Chelsea, I suspected stewed apple would be well suited to TMX, Ron

I made stewed apples the other day with Granny Smith apples and didn't even bother to peel them. I just cut them up and cored them and the result was beautiful. My kids gobbled up the stewed apples in no time and you wouldn't have known the apple peel was in there. I just added water and no sugar whatsoever.

Thanks for that Merlin. I'll have to try no peeling first. I have often wondered.
