I like apples, the ultimate 'fast food' but occasionally I dress one up a bit like cada but not, just an apple, some spices like cardamom, ginger, cinnamon, and sometimes a ryvita in there. I know it sounds really boring but its quite a nice snack if you're just looking to eat an apple differently! I do love the original cada best of all, though.

Reviving old thread to say.....I made Quirky Jo's Almost Raw Chocolate yesterday and it is divine! I will have to be careful to not make it too often or I will put on all the weight I have just lost. But wow, just delicious.

Amy I love Steven Wright's quotes, isnt he funny?!

This is another old favourite of mine:

I am reading the Magic Faraway Tree to my youngest now, its her first "chapter book". I am so excited that she will be in these worlds, and then....Narnia!! My childhood favourite.

Well I have finished reading the latest Jack Reacher, loved it for a good annual JR fix. Am now reading "Sweet Poison" all about sugar and finding it absolutely fascinating. I rarely read non fiction but this has me captured.

Character of Jack Reacher: there is a list on IMBD of better suited actors. I think Hugh Jackman could pull it off, also this guy:

He is 6"2' so nearly tall enough.

I am reading the latest Jack Reacher crime novel by Lee Childs, love this series! I just wish he wrote more than one a year.

I have just noticed some chatting about Jack Reacher looking through the thread - yes I can't believe they have given Tom Cruise the role: He is short! JR is a big man and thats part of his charm. I don't know if I will be able to see the movie, I have such a clear picture of the gorgeous Jack Reacher in my head.

My lovely mother is a great cook but for some reason makes a TERRIBLE casserole. It's grey and chewy and tasteless. Thank goodness she isn't on this forum, she'd be so hurt!! If I ever get sick she pops in with a casserole and there have been times I have sent my husband down to the shop for dinner and binned the casserole. I just try not to ever get sick.

I feel so bad about that!!! So "first world".

Ps I make a fabulous casserole :)

Thanks you guys, I don't post all that often here but I'm a big forum user and reader and I ALWAYS get help and reassurance when I ask which I greatly appreciate.

Well a night on her back on the dining room table was just the trick. Just plugged in and all looking great. I am SO relieved!!

Yes I did check out that 24 month warranty CP63 :)

Yes Judydawn I had read your whole thread and because I didn't think it had gotten wet I thought it could be a different issue, but now that its basically the same story over again, I am thinking perhaps this is what happened, one of the teenagers has gotten it wet and I just didn't know. I'm not cross at them as I am just so glad they are using it for good (green smoothies, salads) and no longer buying chips and coke (evil)!!

Thanks again thermomixers extraordinare!!

Here is a link to some other people's ideas on the fly lady's site:

I hope the link works, not familiar with this function on the forum.

Personally I would be finding cleaners who can come for the five weeks till your regulars get back. In the meantime, The Fly Lady might have some ideas. I also like the idea by CP63 of asking the kids what they would like to do.

Do you have a Star Chart? That might work better than money for six year olds. They get a star for every ACTUALLY HELPFUL thing they do (my youngest is six and its old enough for genuinely helpful tasks) and then at every tenth star they get a little prize like staying up an extra half hour or an extra story at bedtime or a coveted headband or whatever. An outing with grandma :)

What is miracle cleaner? I might need some of that with one six year old and two teens!!

OK I have it lying in the middle of the dining room table on its back. It's like being in the olden days and gran is laid out waiting for burial (no offence to anyone).

I will leave it there overnight and cross everything and hope that as tomorrow is a new day I will see my TMX plugged back in with bright efficient LED function.

Even the kids are looking sadly at the thing laid out..unplugged...lights out...upside-down...already missing their Shrek smoothies and date & chocolate energy balls :)

If things are still not good in the morning its straight to the engineer in Balcatta TMX HQ.

....sob...

ps Now I will have to just quietly eat all that rocket pesto to cheer me up!!

I have searched the forum for an answer to this but not sure I have found one. I was making Thermomixer's rocket pesto just now (it is lovely) and as I finished the last bit I noticed the LED display was looking odd.

Since then (ten minutes ago) it has gone mental. It shows fractions of numbers and all the 'function's are lit as if I am weighing, kneading, and reversing all at the same time. If I try and weigh something it just jumps all over the place.

I have checked for moisture (as far as I know it hasn't gotten wet) and cleaned it, turned it off and on more than once, checked for obstructions etc. I do not know where to go from here and can't find anything on the web that fits.

Can anyone offer any advice? I am freaking out a little bit. I have had it for about 15 months and so far no problems other than needing the blade replaced at 12 months.

Cheers,
Serena
