Good to hear from you JD.   It sounds as if it's been a worrying time for you and I echo what everyone else has said - take time to get better and make sure you look after yourself (and let others look after you too!)

It's amazing how tiring coming out of hospital can be - just make sure you don't overdo it and don't feel under any pressure to get back on here until you're ready to do so.   Even getting on the computer can sap your energy levels  :D

Aww JudyDawn!

I've been somewhat 'out of the loop' for the past few weeks and am just now catching up on your condition. Poor you for all the suffering, but I am glad you are getting better, and getting support. We never want to believe it will take us as long as "they say" to recover, but if we accept this fact, we do end up with a better result in the end.

As the principal care-giver for a child with special needs, I was very comforted to read that you are getting respite. Breathe, think about the good things, drink water, and rest, rest, rest.

Big hugs to you dear new friend from Down Under. Hope to see you active again as soon as you are ready!

Cheers,
TMB

Update for all those who know what is going on down here. Geoff today was taken out of his room of 4 men (who scream and snore all night) and finally given a private room in the nursing home today.  He rang me and he sounded so much better.  Happy days, now I can stop worrying about his mental state.  With only 2 weeks to go until he comes home, I'm sure things will now look up for him.  I'm doing really well and finally had a good night's sleep until some 'lovely' woman dialled the wrong number at 7.10am this morning and woke me.  arggggggggggggggg    Back when there is more to report.   :-* :-* :-*

Good to hear that you're picking up Judy, and I'm sure you'll now rest easier, now that Geoff has settled.

Julie.

Good news about Geoff.  You will rest easier now that he is happier.  xxxx

That's great news JD! Now you can concentrate on getting YOU better and well rested.
A great cook is one who can rustle up a fabulous family meal with some freezer burnt chops, wilted carrots, sprouting potatoes and cabbage that's gone brown on the cut edges.

As my picture shows, I've suddenly become younger :-)  DD was of the opinion that her picture should be here, not mine!

Well today it is 3 weeks since my op and I decided it was finally time to get out of my pj's and get dressed for the first time. The heat has gone, the house is all opened up and cool again and I am feeling great, well almost great ;) ;)  I defrosted my small freezer (a very quick job with the aid of a baking dish full of boiling water) found a homemade pasty and 1 slice of apricot slice so that is what I had for lunch instead of the planned sandwich.  Can do a few odd jobs now without tiring.  Have booked tickets to see Andrew Rieu's concert in Oct 2010 as I missed out on his recent one here and had to give my tickets away.  Hopefully, we will be able to make the next one. Geoff is sounding better than he has in ages and is coming home again tomorrow to visit me.  I am even planning to convert & cook a one pot meal for him so things are looking up.  Once you start thinking of food, you are well on the road to recovery.  Thanks for listening my friends. xx Judy
