CHRISTMAS / Re: URGENT - Brandy Cream/Custard from the Christmas class
« on: December 23, 2011, 02:46:37 am »
I have just made both of these sauces, both were very nice and turned out perfectly.  On taste test I give it to the recipe without the eggs.  So much easier than the stove.  Bring on Xmas!

Have made this twice now, what an absolute winner.  It dies worry you when you see the batter is a bit dry but the cake is surprisingly moist. It made 16 cupcakes in a muffin tin.  I iced them with cream cheese icing. (60g cream cheese, 30g butter, 11/2 cups of icing sugar and juice of half a lemon)

Seafood and Fish / Re: TUNA RISOTTO

This was absolutely delicious.  I didn't have any tomatoes so I used diced tin toms and the tuna I had was in the little tins which was Tuna withs semi dried tom and basil.  I also added 50gm of Parmesan at the end and let it rest in the thermo server for 20minutes.

Chit Chat / Chutney recipe

Has anyone got a nice chutney recipie that will go well with cold meats that can be made in bulk.  We are having a fundraiser lunch and the cold meat is the Loenard's Chicken Rolls (honey and Macadamia and Spinach and Ricotta) and I thought it would be nice to jazz it up a bit.

Being new at the TM I decided to make the Easy Chocolate Mousse out of the Everyday cooking for every family.  I followed the recipe as per the book but found when I did the egg whites with the Butterfly for 4 minutes on speed 4 they did not fluff up.  I repeated it with new egg whites in case I did do something wrong but the same thing happened.  Any suggestions?

Thankyou all for such a warm welcome.  Received the TM on Friday.  Had a few successes but managed a failure with the mash potato from the book.  Tried doing  Cyndi O'Meara's mash last night which was very successful.  2 of the force of 7 have turned up for seeding so they got good old bangers and mash with coleslaw.  I may have had too large a clove of garlic in the mayo as it is very Strong but I liked it.  I am going to try the The Not-so Humble Carrot Cake today from Why is there Air as it looked so easy and scrumptious.

I have to say it was healthy and we ALL ate it.  Can't wait to try a risotto.

Chit Chat / Re: Tmix workshops or classes in Western Australia?

The first time I ever saw the TM was at a cooking class in Perth where it was used to make a beetroot and apple salad.  It was Nico Moretti and on his web site (Urbanprovider.com.au) he often runs a Thermomix class.  If I was up in Perth and it coincided with one of these clasees it would be on top of my list.

Hi everyone, been dying to have one of these for years and finally bit the bullet after continually driving past all the machinery the boys say we have to have! So now we have the machine we have to have!!!!! Bring on seeding, the cook is ready.

I agree that the pasta demo is over rated.  A little bit three bean mix to me! When I asked the consultant if she did other menus she stated she had 2 which I felt was what she had to conform to.  Is this so or can the consultants be a bit more adventurous?   Cant wait to get my thermomox though, it has arrived but the day I went to town the consultant was booked up so will have to wait till later in the week when I go back in.
