I agree, far too much sugar in most recipes.
Grilled lamb cutlets with stir fry from garden for lunch.
Chicken in Mayo with avo and bacon sandwiches for dinner.
Cookie must try that cheese recipe. Thanks.

We had pea and ham soup for lunch today made by DM , she cooked the bones first then put them in fresh water and added the veg and split green peas . So not too salty . DS said he could just kept have the soup forever . DS 11 has been taking over the kitchen he made red and green shortbread from the festive flavour book . No pistachio so used macadamias instead . Dipped in milk chocolate . A winner . DD 14 made Achookwomens macadamia Anzac biscuits , another hit with family .

Yesterday made Nectarine and berry jam. 20 jars of different sizes.
Ral and I picked a bucket of large cherry plums. Think I will make some Chinese Plum Sauce and some spicy plum sauce. Think I have enough jam to give away as gifts and for the Woodend Farmers Market. I will also make Cumquats jelly when the fruit is ripe.
Cold Thai type Chicken salad for lunch. Mixed grill for Dinner with home grown new pots and 2 second salad from garden.
K Atie , glad your daughter enjoyed making the Anzacs with Macadamias. I made the original recipe for a friend whose 10 year old loved using the TMX to make biscuits.

It's great to have the young ones cooking K Atie.

Chookie I love that cheese. I gave 'the boys' a taste last night before I added it to the dish it was for. They both loved it. I could eat it quite happily as it is.
I made Tenina's Mango Sticky Rice for dessert last night and Power Balls to have with coffee.

I made Thermofun's Zucchini cake but it was not a success - tasted very strongly of baking powder.  Also made Vanilla and Bean's Cottage pie - for some reason I was quite disorganised and it is the type of recipe you have to be organised for ... it took me ages so didn't have enough time to finish my cooking for the week which was Quirky Jo's Vegetables and cashews with coconut satay and coconut rice (except the original version is for chicken) so, as I had heaps of vegetables left over which was to go into that dish I made a quick vege stew instead.
Marina from Melbourne and Guildford

Made A lovely pumpkin , feta and Lentil salad. Had an interesting dressing of Tahini and Maple syrup.
Roasted the thin slices of pumpkin in AF.
Didn't get around to making the plum sauce.
Chow Mein today as I picked the first of the beans from the garden. Fruit salad to follow.
Apple and Vanilla Bean Bircher Museli. Made in TMX. Makes 4 serves. Must post recipe.

The above salad made 2 meals with cold chicken, for the 2 of us. Would serve to visitors.
Picked a bucket of cherry plums, and so did all our neighbours!!
Sally Wise is not a fan of Cherry Plums as they have a very tart skin.
I finally found a recipe that did work after a bit of a fiddle. Chinese Plum Sauce.
