Diet / Re: Weight loss Challenge
« on: July 01, 2012, 12:20:53 pm »
Hi ladies,

I am going to join in! I am currently about 88kgs and would like to lose as much as possible before I start trying for pregnancy in a couple of months.

I think 10kgs would be great, but I will be happy with anything really.

Weightloss kicked off tonight with seafood soup.

Good luck to you all!

I have some of this cooling in jars right now. It is really delicious! Mine has turned out quite runny, not sure if that should have occurred? I'm going to call it Pumpkin Sauce  ;D

I think the 'sauce' will be gorgeous on brushetta, or perhaps as a base on a vegi pizza. It would be yummy over roasted spuds or used as a pasta sauce. Or just eat it with a spoon!

Thank you for this gorgeous recipe! I made this last night with great results. I had no Zucchini, so I used a large field mushroom in its place and no TMX stock, so I used normal beef stock and a bit of water. I had heaps of tomatoes, so I used them in place of the canned ones.

Perhaps because of my alterations, my 'balls' were very light and I was concerned they would collapse with the pasta (I only had spirals) so I browned them in the oven for 10 mins before serving and they were pretty much perfect.

My husband has been very dubious about my TMX meals after a few disasters. This one however, he had seconds and has taken leftovers for lunch too!

This recipe makes a lot of meatballs and sauce. I would say you could easily feed an average family of four. I would add a garlic bread or veg with it if I was feeding hungry teens or more than one man though.

I am looking forward to making this again soon  ;D

Questions? Technical Issues? The Survival Guide / Re: Split in lid

The split is actually at the back, woops!

I will try to take a picture. My consultant has left TMX, should I contact them direct?

Chit Chat / Re: What are your pet hates?
« on: June 25, 2012, 11:13:30 am »
Mobile phones are my pet hate.  Or rather those who have loud conversations without regard for others.

I was sitting with my sister waiting to see her cancer specialist in a rather sombre waiting room, when a woman, also waiting, answered her phone, speaking rather loudly to a friend about something she found amusing.  After a moment or two she loudly yelled "Can you hear me .......can you hear me".

An elderly lady, waiting with her obviously sick husband, leaned over to the woman and gently advised "Everyone can hear you dear."

The woman flushed with embarrassment and quickly moved outside much to the relief of the rest of the patients .

A hospital waiting room is hardly the place to have loud mundane mobile phone conversations.  Whatever happened to manners.

OMG! That is brilliant!!!!

My pet hate- rude, selfish drivers. Especially those who push in when others wait patiently. Grah. Traffic in general gets me firey.

Loves- Hugs from my DH, neices, dog, parents, bothers and sister and friends. And wine. Wine makes me very happy. Especially after driving home in peak hour.

Questions? Technical Issues? The Survival Guide / Split in lid
« on: June 25, 2012, 11:02:05 am »
Hi Everyone,

Does anyone elses TMX lid have a split in in? Mine has a split where it locks in at the front. It has always been very stiff to lock / unlock, now I am thinking there is something wrong!

Thank you,

Reeni

Hi Everyone,

I have had my Thermie for about a year, I have always enjoyed it, but really have only just fallen totally in love with it!

I guess I was turned off for a while as all my meat dishes came out sloppy and all my sauces runny. I am currently more focused on making jams, cakes and chutney's, but would like to become more developed with cooking meals in it.

I am ready to give anything a go and look forward to pinching lots of your ideas!

Reeni
