Meatloaf (cooked in brand new oven!), with steamed vegetables (done in brand new steam oven!) and mashed parsnips (done in the TMX).

Even though the kitchen reno is still not finished, the oven, steam oven and coffee maker are installed and working, so we cant resist using them - even though it means running back and forth into the new extension with things for the ovens.  But I had to do something in the TMX so it didn't feel left out and unloved with all the new appliances arriving  :D

Its very close now JD - just waiting for the splashback to go in, and then the final plumbing and electrical stuff.

I am so very excited - but it is also strange - the ovens are so high-tech and do so many things that it is a bit overwhelming.  When I was 20-30 years old, I would have taken all the new gadgets in my stride, but now that I have a few extra years on the scoreboard, it is actually a bit intimidating.  I was trying to bake a cake in the new oven, and found myself wishing for a simple one that you just turn on, set the temperature, and off you go  :-))

All Miele ......they are absolutely gorgeous.

Yes mcmich - we are very lucky to have a built-in coffee machine.  We decided not to have a microwave at all, since we were told that a steam oven virtually replaces a microwave (which we will soon find out if that is true or not  ;)) so we built in the coffee machine where a microwave would have been.

I can relate to that Karen - mine is too high tech for me too.  When GS was younger he fiddled with the knobs and I had no idea how to reset it - had to call Miele out :-))  Lucky for me they didn't charge  ;D

Silverside and vegies. First time I've done mash in the TMX. It was a little bit too smooth but tasted lovely.

The pyrolytic function is wonderful on the Miele oven Karen - the high temp cooks grime and fat from the inside, virtually cleaning themselves and just wipe clean.  Cleaning the oven was a task which was rarely done in our last home!!!!!!  :)  :)

One of the reasons I chose that oven johnro!  I hate cleaning ovens ....... almost as much as I hate ironing.  Now all Miele needs to invent is a triple function washing machine that washes, dries, irons and folds.  I could probably cope with putting the washing away  ;D
