Great pics of the lobster and Castle Rock KarenH and BZB.

I am trying to avoid the pest man and his potions. We discovered termites up the back of the property  :o :o :o and there is a league of spider nations in the courtyard  :( I try to be live and let live person but there are redbacks and many other nasties there. I think I must be part insect as I hate pest control potions and usually refuse to have them anywhere on the property. Keep telling myself we have to do this  :-\

I'd like the spider man Gayle, rarely get any inside but last time I cleaned out the gutters I noticed lots of cobwebs on the edge of the roof tiles.  I get red backs in the garage periodically but am not afraid to kill them, it's the huntsman which makes my blood pressure rise.  Friends even had their place sprayed for flies as they were getting so many of them.

Seeing as we are talking critters here....

Not so dear DH got up this morning from his bed, walked into his bathroom for the usual, ablutions, took the dog for a walk before it got too hot, made his breakfast  cleaned up his wee mess and went into his office.

I got up from my bed, opened the door to the living area, saw a swarming mass of wiggling maggots. Hundreds and hundreds . Lots squashed by bare feet and some obviously squashed  with shoes. Actually footprints .  So I go I to the office and ask DH is he noticed anything  unusual this morning. Nope nada. When I pointed  out the maggots now in the office and some on the windows where the was just looking out he was totally surprised and got all defensive saying I should be more diligent in removing the garbage from the bin under the sink it this weather then went back  to computer gazing.

It has taken me an hour to wrangle these critters and while sitting here typing I can see a new wave heading for the windows and have decided to let them make it that far  before rounding them up as it is easier than searching them out as they are the same colour as our tiles.

Dh has shouted from the office that I should remember the same thing happened last year  when the bin was not emptied.

Ummmmm!

The 'interesting' thing is that DH is in charge of the bin and always has been. We actually have very little real food waste as I have an Insinkerator. I do believe it was a banana skin  which may have attracted the flys and I do not eat bananas. NUFF said!

Our garbage bin is almost empty every week. It is the bi weekly bottle bin which needs more frequent collecting,

Not happy. They are still crawling to the light.

I can remember the same thing happening last year Gert, what can you do - men will be men but boy it must be infuriating.
