Title: Low FODMAPS Recipes.
Post by: Bootobethin on September 10, 2015, 01:04:23 am
I am interested to know if any Forum users have any tasty and successful low FODMAPS recipes?
Our 21 year old has just been diagnosed with IBS after many years of uncomfortable tummy symptoms.
She is trying this diet to relieve the tummy discomfort.
I have adapted a few favourite recipes but just wondered if any one had some FODMAPS recipies they use.
I have looked at quirky Jo's Blog and she has a few  suggestions.
Thanks all.

I don't know if this thread will be of any help to you Boot but there are some links there which may be.

Thank you Judy. The two diets are a bit different but I will look through the thread.

That's no fun. I hope you can find some recipes that suit.

I've tried cooking low FODMAP meals a few times (my sis has IBS), I am no expert, but I find it easier to use my regular recipes and find suitable substitutions for ingredients that she doesn't tolerate.  I will often omit onion altogether or use the green part of a spring onion (if they are tolerated and you don't have any in the garden, you might like to start growing them!).
More and more  people are following a low/no fodmap diet these days so there is a little bit more info around. Good luck, I hope the diet solves her issues :)

Thanks Jam.
I think you are right. I will just adjust our favourite recipes.
Our girl is also vegetarian so that is a bit complicating.
Just hope it helps her feel better.
