I'm glad your op is over Katie & I hope everything improves for you now.
Judy, I hope you start feeling better soon.
I had to go to the show grounds today to pick up some of our exhibits and our prize ribbons. I am really chuffed because I won the Laucke flour prize for the most outstanding bakery product in the open cooking section of the Show and have come home with a big trophy. Not sure where I will put it ;)

Glad you're ok Katie, sleep well.
Wow ES!!!! impressive baking and even more impressive trophy!
It needs to be in FULL view and full of bubbles, I am sure Gert will agree!

I Mended the Victorian range today with a cut piece of firebrick and fire cement. I then lit it to cure the cement. We need to get some anthracite, wood is not hot enough as most heat goes up flue! However as we have no other heating any heat is welcome!
However tmro the builder is fitting a removable plate in the chimney so when we do not have it on all our  other heat does not vanish up the chimney.  The oven smoked a lot but I filled all the cracks I could find with more fire cement.

Made mince and potatoe tattie pot in the slow cooker, yum and warmed us up. It is getting very autumnal.

You are a Jill of all trades DJ. Amazing - gardening, Nanny, dog trainer, knitter of blankets just to name a few. Hope you get the heating sorted before winter.

Exactly my first thought DJ. I would hold several bottles I should think.

DJ don't forget to remove the cover when using your Victorian Range!
