Review of Pumpkin soup Pge 79 EDC 2013 version
« on: October 02, 2013, 11:47:27 am »
This recipe hasn't changed much since my 2008 EDC version but using my roasted VSC, LL semi skimmed milk and lashings of ground pepper and some extra salt, it really was tasty and so very smooth now that it's blended for a whole minute at the end of the cooking time.  I did have to use speed 3 instead of speed 1 during the cooking process as it wasn't moving.

Made this today. Used a little less water, added saffron. Used ny roasted veg stock. It was silky smooth. Added pepper when serving. It was much better than I thought it would be. Will make again :)

We've had this several times and enjoyed it each time. Sometimes it gets things added to it, like sweet potato or curry paste.

Made basic pumpkin soup with just onion, garlic pumpkin and chicken stock.  Was a bit thin so added a handful of cashew nuts.  Mixed on speed 10/ I minute.  Creamiest soup ever and delicious.

I made this today using Cookie's variations plus added tablespoon umami paste and used cream instead of carnation milk. Delicious, came out really smooth.

I made this tonight for the second time. My family love it. Today I used home grown pumpkin and home grown carrots. I think that makes it taste even better. Next time I may add a little less water, so the soup will be a little thicker.

I love the idea of adding the cashews. I will try it next time.
