Questions? Technical Issues? The Survival Guide / Re: Scales won't turn on
« on: September 08, 2014, 05:54:43 am »
Well, crisis averted.  I left it on the bench unplugged for an hour and then it worked.

Go figure, maybe I got something 'damp'  ???

Cheers

Questions? Technical Issues? The Survival Guide / Scales won't turn on
« on: September 08, 2014, 05:06:54 am »
I have just cleaned my TMX as I have many times before, which includes turning it over on the bench and cleaning the underside.  After I assembled it all back together, my scales won't turn on :(

Any tips?

Does it need a service?  No error code, just scales won't turn on.

It's 3 years old and I've just had to replace a pair of blades, I hope this isn't the beginning of the end....

It's my daughters birthday and she'd like to take cupcakes to school.  Something with a chocolate frosting is her request  ;D

What's your top cupcake recipe?

Starters and Snacks / Re: French Onion Dip from Judydawn
« on: October 22, 2011, 10:46:39 am »
I was looking for a quick dip to take to a BBQ this afternoon.  I literally had 15 minutes to spare before we walked out the door and a load of washing to hang.

Onions cooking = hang washing out.

Although I had to put in about 2 1/2 tsp of veg concentrate before I got a taste I liked.

We had 1/2 hour drive during which I put it on ice and again another 1/2 hour in the fridge when we got there before the nibbles came out.

It was DELICIOUS!!!

Tips and Tricks / Ice Cream

Does anyone here have an ice cream maker also? Does it defeat the purpose of using the TMX to make icecream? My kids just don't wanna wait for it to freeze and I can't keep up with demand! ;)

This morning I did milk for my coffee, porridge and custard (so the kids could take fruit and custart to school) and then this afternoon I made pasta, ragu and buttermilk bread.

Questions? Technical Issues? The Survival Guide / Plain Flour
« on: May 18, 2011, 01:46:21 am »
I've just finished the last bag of plain flour and would like to avoid buying expensive bags of flour where I can.

I'm wanting to make buttermilk bread and my own pasta - could someone suggest a grain to buy to mill my own.  Would I buy just a plain wheat grain?

Cheers

Got home from work @ 5 and had dinner on the table by 6.  Everyone ate every last crumb!  Chicken sausage rolls, mashed potato & steamed vegies.  Plus I'm using an almost dead pumpkin to make soup as I type!

I LOVE my TMX!!!   ;D

Thanks Lellyj!!  I knew someone would know something  ;D

Cooking for family this evening and was after a super quick tutorial on how this is (can?) be done?

I'm looking to steam broccoli, cauliflower, carrots and zucchini in the Varoma and make mashed potatoes in the jug.

Am I being too ambitious for a brand new TMX'er and should I just do them separately?

Cheers

Well this morning is the first morning with TMX and so far have made Cafe Latte and Rick's Apple & Cinnamon porridge (with DD7 & 5).

DS3 doesn't eat porridge, DD3 and DD5 had seconds, DD7 ate about 1/2 and gave her serving to DD3 and DH said he thought:
1. He likes his porridge made with milk;
2. I should peel the apple;
3. I should add more sugar;
4. I should add less cinnamon;
5. I should maybe try an unflavoured recipe  :-))

DH did say he thought the Latte was really creamy.

Off to start on the bread for dinner tonight...

Cheers

Well it's here!!!  My demo ran a little late but there were plenty of left overs so I didn't have to cook.  The kids loved the beetroot salad, the lemon custard and the sorbet.  DH even gave himself brain freeze shovelling it in  :D

DH said 'well go cook something now', I asked him what he felt like and he asked for some pastry so he could make pies with the stewed apples I did last week.  He got up to go and listen to the footy and came back about 10 minutes later and asked me if I was going to do it.  He was pretty amazed when I told him the pastry was resting in the fridge!

Tomorrow for breakfast I'm going to make porridge http://ricksthermomixblog.blogspot.com/2008/07/cinnamon-apple-and-oat-porridge.html and I'll probably find some other bits and pieces to make during the day.  I have a crisper full of vegies about to turn so might make some stock and tomorrow night we're having relatives over for dinner so thought I'd make Beef and Guinness Stew with steamed vegies and mash and I'm about to trawl the desserts section for something yummo!

My DD who is 7 sat through the demo and commented how easy it looked so her and Miss 5 will have their first lesson tomorrow morning for brekky!

Cheers

Kellie
