K Atie I can remember my Dad doing the same. In those days the storage was a problem as once the header and trucks were full you had to stop work.
There have been some dreadful storms here in the grain growing areas, massive hail. I know they would be insured but you can't really insure for the really good crops value.

Chookie yes it was the Cypriot grain salad. Cookie boys worked till this afternoon then the heavens opened ,lighting too . Only just started on the canola so a wait till rain over and dried . Storage is always a problem, some stored on farm but at the moment we are trucking it out ourselves as the local bunker is open .

Starting 3 SD loaves today. Will bake in sequence tomorrow.  Bought a bage of Organic Bread flour, 12 1/2 K.  Price has increased $5 to $42.
More sausage rolls for GS. He and his friends devoured the last lot after bike riding. They may not have enjoyed them so much if they had known that they were 50% vegetable.

I had a chuckle at that Chookie. We make our sausage rolls with heaps of vegetable in too. We discovered that pumpkin doesn't go well in them in one of our trials.

I have a Chia loaf rising at the moment with 100g of Teff flour in it. It is going crazy. I also have a Stollen rising, but that is so slow that I am concerned I may have forgotten the yeast.

Made Cream of Chicken soup with a Cauli base. Also baked a chicken and pumpkin to take out for lunch today.  A friend has just moved into a retirement village and we are going to see how he has settled in.

Cookie, you mince tarts look lovely.  I haven't done any Christmas cooking yet.

Today I am making a large potato salad for tomorrow.  It's a friends 70th birthday and she is having a bbq.

Phew, that would be around 32 crumpets.

No cooking here today, I even used rolls from the freezer for the haloumi burgers.

Yesterday I made some Walnut Refrigerator Biscuits.  These are a nice little spiced biscuit and I like the fact that you can keep the mixture in the fridge and just cut off some and bake them when you need them.
