LeeJ - I find this sort of slice always ends up a bit to dry for me, but not this one! I undercooked it slightly but it will firm up that last bit in the fridge and be beautiful I do think! As you can tell, we couldn't resist, it was iced warm, and served up. A lovely slice, will definitely make again, too simple, and very yum!
Well, let it set in the fridge, and it is now the PERFECT take along slice. Easy to slice, looks fab, tastes great. I'm going to pop some crushed scotch fingers in the next batch as I think it could be the perfect base for a hedgehog!
maddy - Gosh, this slice transported me back to my childhood parties....this would be the first thing I would take to eat. Thanks for bringing back the memories Dede!
Amanda - Great little treat, this one! Baking day today and now happy kids, thanks!
johnro - this has become our favourite choc slice after making the recipe from Day to Day Cookery for years - similar version to that posted by Narelle with the addition of an egg. I prefer the moistness of this one - thanks a bunch Dede!!!!

Thanks Dede this look delicious :-* Your Chocolate Chip Cookies are a real favourite in our house ;) ;)
-
Looks too easy not to make Dede!
Love a good coconut choc slice ;D

No problem guys, I do cook mine longer than 15 minutes as I only cook at 150, so I am not 100% sure of the cooking time but I like mine to be pretty crunchy so I leave it for longer (Probably 25 min) I will take a photo and add tomorrow if they don't get eaten in the mean time.
-
Thanks for another great recipe dede.
-
Thanks Cookie1, Nice to see the word 'Another', as I have not contributed many recipes as yet, I have mainly been stalking the forum and getting recipes. But now I am more comfortable with my TM I am keen to convert some favorite family recipes. I haven't tried converting main meals yet though as I'm not sure of cooking times etc but I'm sure that will change soon. My goal is to convert at least 1 main meal recipe before I reach my 5 stars.
-
i was going to convert a recipe for the same thing not so long ago but got sidetracked looking through the book - thank goodness! your recipe is so much better than mine :-* I cooked it for 25 minutes and its just purrr-fect :-*

Dede , thanks sounds great, will make them when we return from Bali

Just wondering if this one is similar to The Easy Peasy Chocolate Slice, found here:

Ummm was going to make the other one (have made a few times now), but now I can't decide which one to make. mmmmmm

Hi Debbiebil lg,
Does look to be very similar. Ingredients are the same just quantity different. You might have to toss the 2 in the air and decide with the one that lands face side up Lol. (Might take a few tries)

-
What is the size of a slice tin?
-
I use my lamington one, will track down my tape measure!
-
My tin is 28cm x 18cm. Hope that helps
-
Thanks Dede :-*
-
Hi Dede, would you kindly share your choc icing recipe? Thank you.
-
no problem Denzelmum, All I use is icing sugar and cocoa mixed together with a little butter and boiling water to make a mixture that is easily spreadable (Not to thick but not to thin). Sorry I don't have measurements as I just guess.
-
That's the same recipe that I've been using since I was a kid a great many years ago! Really easy and works so well.
-
Me too: about a cup of icing sugar, about 1.5 tablespoons cocoa, 25g butter, and just add the boiling water abit at a time (its ever so easy for water to come out in a rush and then you have to add more icing sugar to thicken again)
-
Oh thanks Dede,Cuilidh and CP for the icing recipe :-* I never would have thought of adding the butter as I just use a plain glace icing of icing sugar and water. :)
-
Thank you every one!
-

Nice looking plate of Chocolate Crunch Maddy 8)
-
oh Maddy we should all employ you to try all our recipes and post your photos as they look so good. Obviously you have a real eye for photography. Do you do alot of other photography or just food photos?
-
I made Narelle's version of this the other day (easy peasy chocolate slice) and it was quite crumbly. I don't think it was overcooked. I noticed yours has less coconut Dede so I will give this a go next time. :)
-
Chelsea, I've made both, but this is my favourite. The reduced amount of coconut does make it a bit more moist and less crumbly.
-
Lol dede....thanks, but no. I Just use an old kodak 12 mp., get as close as I can until it's out of focus, and that's it really.

Thanks Debbie that is good to know. I might even halve this recipe as I was after a smaller slice. :)
-
Great little treat, this one!
Baking day today and now happy kids, thanks!
-
Well you have done it again Dede, absolutely superb recipe :-* My DH and DS just love it. ;D
-
I'm glad to hear it CP. It's an old recipe but still loved by most.
-
Have to agree with Debbie - this has become our favourite choc slice after making the recipe from Day to Day Cookery for years - similar version to that posted by Narelle with the addition of an egg. I prefer the moistness of this one - thanks a bunch Dede!!!!
