Title: bread.
Post by: janetski on December 01, 2012, 02:51:36 am
Hi.  My kids and grandchildren have just bought me a thermomix and I am over the moon!  Friend Gretchen has helped me use it and lastnight I made some bread.  It was quite dry and wonder why.  I followed the recipe but used wholemeal flour and a touch of spelt also.  Any reasons for the dryness? ???

Welcome to the forum janetski.  I also find that my wholemeal bread needs a little bit of extra water.  There a plenty of ladies on this forum who know a lot more about bread making than I do so I am sure one of them will be able to help you.  Enjoy your TMX.

welcome janetski, Just a bit more water when you add grains.  Could also add a little oil.  Wonderful gift and lucky with your neighbor.

Hi Janetski - welcome to the forum. I'm a newbie too, such a nice community.
My husband does all our bread baking AT (after thermomix) . He thought the edc recipe was average so uses another. I'll ask him for it if you like and post for you to try. We do half freshly milled wholemeal  & half organic white flour.

Hello Janetski, welcome to the forum.  It was only a matter of time before Gretchen encouraged you to join the forum and having her right next door will be a real bonus if you have any problems.  Be wary of the cockroaches in your part of the world though  ;)
