LillyPilly where are you from? I'm in WA and love to look on here and see everyone's cooking basically before my day has even started.
Judy the 'bread' looks interesting. Does it use much starter?
I think I had better get cracking and make Chookie's Malt biscuits. We had visitors this morning and they helped demolish the Rum and Raisin cake from yesterday. I love it when people visit and eat, then I can cook more. ;D ;D ;D ;D

2 cups cookie, which only left me with a few tablespoons to feed up again.

Not sure where my post went, think Tapatalk is up to no good again, but yesterday I made TRTLMT teeny teddies only in star, heart and flower shapes. They are really yummy and make loads.

Judy, gorgeous looking bread. The sourdough thread has provided a lot of reading while I waited for my machine to arrive. My bread consumption is so erratic, I haven't figured out how to keep a starter alive without tossing a lot of it. Any suggestions, or words of encouragement?

Cookie, I'm in QLD, but it wouldn't matter, everyone, everywhere seems to get up earlier than me ☺️. Thankfully I live on my own so I don't wake anyone if I get an urge to cook something in the wee hours.

Malted biscuits, mmmm. Has anyone made malt powder?

I don't use my starter a lot LillyPilly so have always fed and thrown away excess. I'm out every day so even making a sourdough loaf is hard to fit into my schedule.  Chookie comes up with ideas though, eg sour dough crumpets & pancakes.  She as recipes on the forum.

Yes I have made malt powder.  Tenina showed me how at my first  Tenina cooking class.
Can't remember how but will find the pamphlet  and share if I am allowed.

My sour dough starter died last week :( it was bubbling away one day and the next nothing, I tried CPR, but it was to late.  :( :(
I child-proofed my house, but they still get in!

I know what you mean Bedlam. I baked on the weekend for the first time in about a month. The bickie barrel has been bare for quite some time, so I filled it up with choc ripple and Snappy's lunchbox cookies. I also made mint choc chip icecream and choc mousse icecream.
Tonight I butterflied a chook which I rubbed with orange and olive salt and attempted to cook it on the Weber, but the gas ran out part way through and I had to resort to the oven and a late dinner.

Kimmyh,  your biscuits always look so good.  All neatly cut.
Judy the oats may have prevented the loaf from rising as they have very little gluten.
The liquid malt is very nice in wholemeal bread.  Dissolve it in the warm water and include it in the liquid measurement.
Best not to bake when Mojo has gone as everything will fail.  Funny that!! Best to go for it when it is there.
