I do the one in one out rule too Gert. You probably would be able to barter.

I recently put a melamine pantry cupboard on gumtree for free - the lovely gentleman that picked it up gave me a bottle of wine. I have put several things on gumtree for free and am just happy to have it out of my home - this is the first time someone has given me anything which was a lovely treat. The bottle of wine was a good drop too.  :D

This was a lovely gesture on his part, Mich . . . yours too!!  We've used Freecycle a lot in the past.  Best was a huge, cumbersome carport which had to come down.  Three lovely young gentlemen turned up, dismantled it, took it away . . and used the materials on their own property . . .no mean feat - but they certainly appreciated it - and I certainly appreciated having it gone (without having to lift a finger)!

I'm with you GF. Great to be free of the stuff and great to know someone is using it.  :D

When we shifted into our new house we got rid of a lot of things like those cupboards Mich. lucky for us a friends daughter was setting up home. Like you we gave them away. We also gave her a lounge suite and a few bits. Our policy is if it is good and we no longer need it it is best to give it away. We know heaps of young people just starting out and they appreciate it.

I was a bit naughty today as I bought a samsung galaxy 8 note. That was my confession.  Am enjoying getting my head around Android.  Picked up a Janelle Bloom cook  book "my favorite food for all seasons". Lots of gorgeous recipes. A lovely throw rug for the lounge. A better homes & gardens subscription that I cannot get on my ipad and surprised to see offered on Android:-*

Sounds like you had a very satisfying day, CP!!  DD has a galaxy and I really try not to look at it . . . :-))  Interesting about the BH&G sub that you can access on one but not the other . . .
