I mainly have yogurt with mixed seeds and nuts with a handful of berries, or scrambled eggs with mushrooms or whatever, or bacon with mushrooms or tomatoes, or fried halloumi with tomatoes and mushrooms

When it's really cold I love porridge, but I haven't been very adventurous with it.  I've eaten it with compote a couple of times after reading the idea somewhere (probably this forum  ;D ) and liked that.  I thought this winter I'd mill some almonds first then reduce the amount of oats to make it lower carb and see how that works out.

Does anyone have any other low carb breakfasts to share?
As my picture shows, I've suddenly become younger :-)  DD was of the opinion that her picture should be here, not mine!

I had the same as I had yesterday :)

Caroline, I personally never eat a low carb breakfast because I believe the morning is the most important time to eat a good energy meal, but you could try:
Omelettes (made with eggs and/or egg whites) with spinach, tomato and/or mushrooms.
Green smothies.
Breakfast frittata or quiche.
Scrambled tofu.
Your own "muesli" blend without grain products.

You can also make a "pancake" using 1/3 cup of almond meal with 1 beaten egg and just enough milk to get the consistency how you like it.  Then the only real carbs to worry about is what you put on them. You cold top with low fat yoghurt or cottage cheese and fruit.

Actually cottage cheese and fruit is a good low carb breakfast.

Actually that is where the name originally came from, cottage cheese was easy to make at home and was one of the early cottage industries.

The term "cottage cheese" is believed to have originated because the simple cheese was usually made in cottages from any milk left over after making butter. The term was first used in 1848.[1] The curds and whey of nursery rhyme fame is another dish made from curds with whey, but it is uncertain what their consistency was, if they were drained at all or how they were curdled (which affects the flavor). Some writers claim they are equivalent or similar.[2]
