This looks great, I will have to try it next week. I haven't heard of hoisin sauce before- Is it similar to oyster sauce? Would it be in that section of the supermarket? Thanks :)

I made this during the week and was very happy with it. I used a fair bit of chilli and cayenne pepper, so was obviously hot, but stirred through greek yogurt for the kids at the end and everyone was happy. Will definitely make this again for a quick economically weekday meal.

Main Dishes / Re: Butter Chicken & Tikka Paste

Well done GHM, that is great you were able to impress your Indian friends  :)
I did double the tikka paste for marinating last time, but only because I had spare in the freezer. I don't think it was necessary though, and will just use the 100g next time. Did you still have plenty of sauce? I did!

I made this Tonight I give it 5/5, definitely one of the best all in one meals I've made so far. I had fresh noodles so I just put them straight in the thermoserver &  once the beef was done poured boiling water in & let them sit (with beef in varoma on top) until veggies were done. After 8 mins my beef wasn't done, so cooked it for another 3-4 minutes, but next time I will try just the 8 mins, because I think it kept cooking a little whilst sitting over the thermoserver. Thanks JD for a fantastic recipe  :D

Suggestions and Complaints / Re: New Thermomix, rev sound on speed 4?

Now that you mention it, I noticed a 'change' in the sound (as described here) when I was making custard with my consultant and she said it was Normal. I have noticed it when cooking custard since but have ignored it. Would be interested to know what head office said though..

Desserts / Re: Crumble topping

I used this over the top of the stewed rhubarb, apple & strawberries from EDC and it was delicious, will definitely use this for crumbles from now on-thanks  :)

Good idea GHM, I will try sautéing the bacon first next time.

I made this over the weekend and really liked it. I have had some dubious results from EDC book but found this to be easy, tasty and filling. Even my DD4 & DS2 ate it & they are not big soup eaters. I used bacon. It wasn't like a typical pea & ham soup but it was still nice &  I will definitely be making this again.

I made this last night. Really yummy, actually tastier than I expected it to be. I think if I was making it again I'd pulverize the leeks so that it would be more appetizing to DD4 & DS2. I think adding mushrooms peas & carrots would be nice. I used 4 sheets of frozen pastry in my big lasagna dish. I had to turn up the oven quite a lot towards the end to brown off the pastry.

I used 1kg chicken thighs this time, & marinated it in double tikka paste (200g) and yes, like Yvette there was still plenty of sauce. I also added some steamed  broccoli & cauliflower which was nice. I think using the thigh fillets was much nicer than the breasts. I love this recipe!

I think so natalia. I do like horseradish but its such a small amount you can hardly taste it specifically. I'd give dill a go  :)
