I didn't know heehee and I'm still too scared to try multitasking (soup, veges, fish) unless I have a recipe to follow!  Although, I did do steamed veges over the mashed potato the other night heehee  Going to have some variation of this recipe for breakfast tomorrow :)

I understand where you are coming from Snoozie - perhaps anyone with recipes like this could post some more ideas for people to follow ie soup or sauce in the TM bowl, meat in the varoma dish and vegies in the varoma tray. With the meal you did the other night with potatoes to mash (in the basket?) and vegies, you could then add some chicken fillets/thighs in the varoma dish and put the vegies on the tray. Hey presto, a complete meal. I use some of the capsicum & sundried tomato dip recipe from the EDC & either place it on top of the chicken or cut a pocket and poke it inside then sprinkle the dip with parmesan cheese. The dip freezes well so I always have a batch in the freezer and just cut off what I need.

Thanks for that reminder Judy. I do remember you saying it somewhere but I had forgotten. e love that dip and I have to fight to freeze some. I think I may make some while everyone is out and put it in the freezeer :-)) :-)).
I often marinade chicken and place it on damp baking paper in the varoma and steam it with vegies and potato.
One of my favourite marinades is equal quantities of soy, balsamic and EVOO.
May all dairy items in your fridge be of questionable vintage.

hehe I finally got around to trying this with leftover veges from the other night... think I overdid it a bit though as I had to double the steaming time lol

I made a frittata in the varoma tonight to use up lefterovers of cooked pork sausage and various vegetables.I followed Thermomixer's advice and used a 6 egg mixture but ended up steaming for 23 minutes as the tray was loaded with all the mixture.The result was yummy and went down a treat with DH and DS.Definitely make this again. :)

made this as well last night  ;) used left over roast veges, and had it with a salad. prob cooked for about 20 mins and it was lovely. Very easy for nights when you can't be bothered cooking.

Thanks thought I'd bump this as it was so simple and a great easy lunch.  Used left over chorizo and veg left in the fridge.  This will be a regular at our house.  Think I'll pop in a tad of veg stock paste next time....... :)

I just made myself a fritatta (or is it really an omelette?) for lunch using 1 egg, some milk, some chopped ham, zuchinni, baby grape tomatoes and mushrooms, all topped with grated cheese. Because I had only one egg left I used the bottom of the varoma and put three cupcake silicone moulds along one edge before putting the paper in to make sure I didn't end up with a pancake. I probably still had a few too many vegies, and wouldn't use zuchinni again as it is so watery but it was a good, healthy and filling lunch. If anyone else in my family ate eggs it would be a great idea for dinner one day... alas.

I should tell the teachers at school they can make this in 15 minutes... they could take turns in making it for a shared lunch at lunchtime.
