Quick Dried Fruit Chutney
« on: November 22, 2010, 05:56:55 am »
DH was surprised he liked this.

150g Fruit Medley (I used Angas Park)
250g boiling water
55g brown sugar
65g apple cider vinegar
1/2 cinnamon stick
1/8th tspn mixed spice
1/4 tspn ground ginger

Place the fruit in the TM bowl and pour the boiling water over it.  Put the lid and MC on and leave to sit 5 minutes. Add the rest of the ingredients and cook for 10 mins/100o/reverse/speed 1.
Remove the cinnamon stick and cook for 5 mins/varoma temp/reverse/speed 2/MC OFF.
Pour into a sterilised jar.  Serve with cold meats.

Yum. I love chutney but the mob aren't too thrilled by it. Perhaps as Christmas gifts.
May all dairy items in your fridge be of questionable vintage.

I have only ever used chutney in recipes Cookie, not on a sandwich or cold meat but I am a bit like a kid, if I made it myself I might get to like it  ;D ;D ;D

Looks great JD - you might want to amend the recipe though so the vinegar and spices get added into the bowl  ;D ;D ;D
