No Cookie1, lazy bones me buys SW Light Whole Egg Mayonnaise but there is no reason why you couldn't use your own home made one.

Welcome to the forum June and well done on your achievement.  I must admit, when I read your forum user name I thought you were having a go at the loudness of the TMX because, only the other day, my DH told me I was getting industrial deafness from my machine as he had spoken to me and I didn't hear a word he said (he was in the next room and the TMX wasn't on at the time).  My machine is a lot louder now than when I first got it and I am thinking seriously of wearing ear plugs (don't laugh, I mean it  :o :o).

June, you've had your machine for 6 months now and are loving it as we all do.  Thanks for joining us here on the forum and I look forward to hearing more from you.

Oh dear ILB, sounds a right fix you are in.  You must know someone who can help somehow.  Firstly I guess you have to find that CD.  Sit down, open a bottle of BB and contemplate the situation, take a deep breath and tell yourself it will all work out in the end.  I'm sure you've had bigger problems in life - thinking of you  :-* :-*

It worked for me Chookie, separated into the 2 layers as the recipe said.  It would be nice served in stemmed individual glasses too for visitors.
A friend of mine is moving into a retirement village and gave me all her cookbooks (she doesn't cook and most of them had her Mum's name on them).  There was one put out by Sagasco back in 1959 called 'Better Cooking...by gas' which was an Adelaide publication and there are some lovely old fashioned recipes in there.  I was only going to write out a few recipes and pass the books onto another of her friends as I have no more room for more books unless they are TMX ones but there were far too many which took my fancy so I will certainly be keeping this book. Hopefully a few converted ones will pop up on the forum.

I made this today Chookie and have just snuck out to the kitchen to have a spoonful - it wasn't set at teatime.  Very nice.  I can imagine it as a crepe filling too.  Sorry it took me so long to get around to doing it - you know how it is  ;) ;)

Carrie, thanks for pointing out Chookies blog under her name.  Der, didn't ever see those symbols there before. So it isn't really necessary then to have it under all the postings except that most people seem to have it there too.
Chookie I did one of your desserts today so when it is set I'll let you know what I think of it  :-* :-*  Won't be until I get home from babysitting though.

Main Dishes / Re: Sloppy Joe (From Canadian Cookbook)
« on: February 08, 2010, 05:29:58 am »
We had this for lunch today over jacket potatoes (DH hates jacket potatoes but I love them) served with salad.  I personally found the mince to be a little dry so next time I will use 120g of Megan's tomato passata instead of 60g of the tomato sauce (ketchup) but will still use the steak sauce.  Have frozen the leftovers and will do as Cookie1 suggested i.e. add some baked beans to it which will give it the extra moisture I think it needs. Very nice though.

This is a good one for that thread where someone was asking for ideas on recipes for quick meals for drop-in visitors.  You can have a batch of the Sloppy Jo mixture in the freezer and just need to thaw it out, zap whole potatoes until cooked then crisp up in the oven or weber.  Quick as.

Carrie, be prepared for it to take longer to set in a plastic container, that's why they say a metal one.

Not as far as I am concerned Nay-nay - I believe in free speech and H.O. would do well to gauge the market by reading some of the posts on here. I know consultants hold back for fear of upsetting H.O. but what are they going to do - send out a hit man ??? ???

It is on her profile Thermomixer, just not on all her postings.
