Title: Which recipes from the EDC??
Post by: JenniCB on January 26, 2014, 12:16:14 am
Hi All,

I wasn't really sure where to post this question so hope this is ok. I was wondering, since I've been out of the thermo loop for a while, which recipes people use straight as is out of the EDC (ie better alternatives aren't being used instead). In particular, I'm wondering about the Beef Stroganoff and Pizza Dough recipes. Hope my question makes sense.

Oh and I've noticed that there is a 2013 edition of the EDC. I got mine in 2010. Is the new book much different? Better?

Thanks,
Jenni

Jen, Chelsea's strog (http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=13567.0) on here is a better recipe  :) it's a combination of both mine and her recipe and is the one I make all the time now :)

I always make the pizza dough from the EDC as it has always worked for us (I do use the milk option though) I think it is a personal preference. I know there are some here that others swear by that I must get around to trying!

I do know the scone recipe is great Jenni.  My DD did it for a high tea for the forumfest we had here in Adelaide last year and everyone was very impressed with their lightness.  They wanted to know just how she did it so I posted this thread (http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=13888.0).

We love Chelsea's beef stroganoff recipe. Scones, hot cross buns and icecream are good too and used regularly in our house.

We use Jamberie's pizza dough as we love it. I use Chookie's hot cross buns, and icecream recipes from here.
The only thing I seem to use the EDC for now is to check on pasta, rice, egg times.

JenniCB, if you have a consultant, give her/him a ring and ask about the EDC.

We love the tomato salami fettuccine. I'm sure we've used it for other things too.

I used the EDC pizza dough recipe on Sun night and it turned out well.  :D
Used the 2013 book but have not checked to see if it is the same as the old one or not.  :-[

I love the pizza dough in the EDC. Use it regularly. In fact, I was teaching DS11 how to make it yesterday. Then my 3 boys constructed their own pizzas for lunch. Fool proof and yummy :)
