Don't know here this should go moderators. Maybe we need a Fur Kids. Thread.
This is a non recipe sort of . Very flexible so long as you get the dough right.
In Thermothingy put
3 cups of any combo of flours, semolina, polenta,
1/2 tsp salt
1tsp brown sugar
1 tbs oil or butter or drippings
1 or two eggs
1/2 milk powder (optional)
Liquid to make a dough.
I used a combo of unsalted chicken stock, and juices from cooked chicken livers.
I mixed all the ingredients then added the liquid through the lid until it came together then kneaded for about 2 minutes.
I then divided the dough. Put half back into the bowl and added chopped cooked chicken livers, some parsley. And mixed. Rolled it out, cut into dog house shapes and cooked 200 c for 10 minutes.
The other half I put back into bowl added 1/2 cup grated cheese, some quark cheese I had plus parsley flakes. It was a wee bit wet so I added some more semolina. Put it in the fridge for 1/2 then rolled it out and cut it into bones . Bake it the same.
These are kept in the fridge.
Endless possibilities with combinations.
Elvis and Jaxon love these treats.

Oh Gert you are a clever cookie, a dog cookie maker in fact. I wouldn't have a clue where these go. I think we had some dog cookies on here before. I'll have a look round.
Elvis and Jaxon are lucky boys..

I found the other two recipes in this section so I have moved Gert's recipe here.
Perhaps we do need a pet food section. Any thoughts?

What about in the Non-Food area - it's food but not food for humans. Just a thought.

My DH tested the biscuits so humans could definitely eat them !!

My old boy Sox will love them, as he turns his nose up at bought biscuits.

Bumping for all those with furkids (of the canine variety). Will be making these up for my two in the next day or so . . .thanks, Gert! :D

Hope your fur kids love them. I love making dog food for mine ....probably more so than for DH. I discovered today that my doggie absolutely goes crazy for my yoghurt. Go figure!
I take advice from my vet as to what to include and the variety is endless. Also it uses up a lot of bits an pieces,
Making food for dogs can be very satisfying .

Gert, I was just reading through the ingredients again - what is the measurement for the milk powder? Thanks.
-
Oh bugger I cant remember. Bad one that . Just leave it out or toss it what you want . Won't make any difference. You can also use the whole egg with shell so,the vet says it you grind it enough.
The recipe is pretty forgiving as far as flavours go.
Hope your doggie enjoys . If not give them to your DH. I did!

Yes whole eggs including shells are fabulous ! Just try to remove lactose or use goats milk or coconut milk !
