Good idea.  I haven't and I don't know if Harmony has either. Guess it wouldn't hurt to send it again just in case aye? I'll do it right now.

Isn't it great, sharing tips passed from one person to another. I always make a note of other people's tips on recipes I use or plan to use as you can't always put your finger on them here on the forum.  You should see my recipe books -  ??? ??? ??? very messy. Cathy does the right thing - if she has a problem she asks for some advice on it.  In my early TMX days, I tried something once and if it wasn't successful, then that was it, didn't try it again. Good on you Cathy.

Thanks Thermomixer. I only used it once whilst GS was here so making up for lost time. I really missed not having the time to play with my 'other baby' so I have gotten that out of my system now and will have tomorrow off.

Tips and Tricks / Re: EDC Mushroom Sauce tips?

No, I haven't done the meatloaf recipe yet Cathy - sorry to confuse everyone about the mushroom sauce. Should have read the posting a bit slower and I may (I add may!) have worked out which one you were talking about.

Today I have made Fruit Toast, iced yesterdays custard slice (yummo), raspberry ice-cream, cooked a roast in the weber and made a red onion/red wine gravy in the TMX.  Ready to pack up some food from yesterday to go with the above and do a 'meals on wheels' delivery to Mum - she will love her basket of goodies today.

I made double of this recipe ages ago Cathy, without the porcini mushrooms, and froze it in 1/2 cup quantities.  Have not long ago used up the last packet.  I used swiss brown mushrooms, not button mushrooms and used CORNflour mixed in with the cream before adding it to the TMX to prevent clumping.  It turned out really well with a saucy consistency.  I imagine the porcini mushrooms would have intensified the flavour and IMO, it didn't need anymore flavour than mine.  You could add a bit more water if it was too gluggy.

Made this today, using fresh yeast for the very first time in my life. It turned out beautifully.  I was surprised it took so long to double in size - I had it in a 50o oven for an hour but it was all worth the wait.  Thanks Cathy  :-* :-*

Desserts / Re: Easy Vanilla Slice
« on: October 17, 2009, 03:55:16 am »
I made alioop's version of this slice (using Cottee's vanilla pudding mix) and it is so easy & delicious. My icing was a bit thin looking and when I checked back on here, realised JulieO had a nice icing on her version that I could have followed but for special occasions i would probably buy the Orchard Icing.

I need to add - DH just had a piece after his lunch and said it was the best vanilla slice he has ever tasted ;D ;D ;D

Recipe Book Recipe Reviews / Re: Easy Blueberry Icecream - EDC

I knew I froze that cream for something but forgot what :P :P :P Browsed my postings list until I found this.
So, I did half quantity and didn't read the recipe properly and therefore didn't add the bit of liquid to help bring the frozen cream cubes and frozen raspberries together.  However, I don't think the 1T would have helped at all as the mixture was very dry and crumbly.  As you can with the TMX, I fixed it by adding around 200mls of strawberry yoghurt which I was lucky enough to have in the fridge. I tried less to start with but it didn't look like ice-cream so I just kept adding until it did.  It is delicious but not quite what I set out to achieve. Funny how things work for some people and not others :-)) :-)) :-))

Interesting blog Tarah.  Raw food isn't for everyone so what do you serve up to visitors if you don't mind me asking.

This is a great recipe - having had a few failures, i was pleased to say that this tasted absolutely lovely and it looked just like the photos. Even my fussy brother in law went back for thirds - needless to say everyone else was dissapointed there wasnt more!!!! Thanks for a great recipe.
Nice to hear you did something you were happy with Mel.  Hang in there, it will all come together before you know it. Just check on the forum first to see if there has been any tweaking of a recipe and then you shouldn't have any problems.
