Yep, better than the Hilight Cake!! :o

I think it's the slower temperature that works so well. Each time I've made this it takes EXACTLY 40 minutes at 160c. That's a miracle in itself as I usually find that I have to cook cakes a bit longer than the recipe states.
A great cook is one who can rustle up a fabulous family meal with some freezer burnt chops, wilted carrots, sprouting potatoes and cabbage that's gone brown on the cut edges.

It's definitely going to be made then.

Inspired by the success of the cake I did last year (thanks ton your advice and encouragement) Ive had another go this year.  Thisbyear she's having a campfire party, and they're cooking their food on a campfire at our allotment, and making a scarecrow.

I,ll ask DH to take a photo.  I melted hard boiled sweets in the oven on a tray, then let the sheet harden, then broke it into shards to use  as flames.  If I had time I would do it again using just red and orange for a deeper colour.  The yellow I used has made it a bit too nothing.  Oh well.
As my picture shows, I've suddenly become younger :-)  DD was of the opinion that her picture should be here, not mine!

Bimby, I can't count how many times I've used your recipe!  Love it.

The full mix was the perfect amount for the two sections, for the giant donut cake I made this afternoon.

Maddy your pics are always so clear - your dishes look great.  Do you use a compact digital or SLR and do you compress the pics before posting - great work whatever you do.

Cheers

You must have a lot of parties  ??? ???

:D We do entertain/go out quite often, and usually it's mandatory that I bring the dip, bread and of course cupcakes.  Everyone loves a cupcake!

Isn't it gorgeous!  A lovely lady on the taste forum sent it to me as a thank-you......she knew I would love it  ;)  It was a gift store somewhere  ???

Thanks Robyn......well I just use a good old kodak digital camera......get as close as I can before it's out of focus, and click  :P  I really have no idea about photography, and I usually take a few shots, and hope at least one is clear.
I'm not really sure what you mean about compressing the pictures  :P clueless I am  :D
