It was 37 here yesterday and 16 today!  Yesterday I had the aircon on for a while, today I turned it over to heat as it was cold in the kitchen.  Very overcast and we've had a bit of rain but I hope we get a bit more.

On our morning walk it was so windy that sand was blowing into us, not nice when blowing into our faces, wasn't a pleasant walk at all. Hopefully tomorrow will be better.

On a nicer note, my grandson will be staying with us this weekend.  Late Friday afternoon will be meeting our daughter half way between where she lives and us so she can hand him over and will do the same thing on Monday.  He's asked if I can make him pasta carbonara and an apple pie!  God love him.  I recently saw a nice looking recipe of a deep pan apple pie from Sophia so am going to make that one on Friday in readiness  ;D

We are having a Chilli Beef stir fry. Probably with rice to cool my mouth.

Cookie, years ago I read that when you eat something that you find too hot instead of reaching for a glass of water, have some milk instead.  There's something in it that calms the mouth and takes some of the heat away.  I've tried it and it does work  ;D

Going to be a hot one here today but thankfully cools down again tomorrow.  :)

I made a double lot of Skinnymixer's Peri Peri chicken about a month ago, cooking one lot and vacuum sealing the other lot in its marinade and freezing.  I will cook it today for DH and serve with small roasted potatoes and a nice salad.  The perionaise is really good so will make up another lot of the marinade and freeze into amounts you use to make the flavoured mayo.

Can't seem to go wrong with RTE recipes, she gets lots of flavour into her meals.  I made her fish curry a couple of weeks ago, reducing the chilli etc to our tastes as recommended and it was so good.

Fingers crossed it all goes to plan Cornish.  At least you have a couple of days to prepare for the month lockdown.

We've been down the coast for a couple of days to visit our daughter and grandson.  Weather wasn't the best but it was still enjoyable to be away.  Our sea view room was as usual very nice and comfortable.  Nice being back home though.  DH back at work today.

Beautiful morning and warming up for a couple of days, don't mind it in short spurts.  :D

Found it Cuilidh, from 2011.  I made a comment that I was going to give them a go after lots of positive comments, but I never commented back.  Maybe I didn't get around to it.   Here for anyone interested.

;D Cuilidh!  Sorry for laughing but the visuals of your comment had me laughing.  Does your hairdresser have a cancellation list?  I can empathise, I feel so much better after being done.  :D

The sky here is getting very dark.  Have put all our indoor plants out in readiness which guarantees the rain will pass us over  :P

DH and I went and did our beach walk again just after lunch.  He's back at work in the morning but if the rain does set in at least I've got an extra walk in.  There were lots of school kids from one of the high schools fishing off the jetty, they seemed to be enjoying themselves.  It was very windy and cold but it blew the cobwebs out!  :D

Glad you are starting to feel a bit better Chookie, hopefully you'll improve each day.

Bit of a miserable morning here, overcast but not cold.  Rain is forecast for later and thunderstorms tomorrow!  Hope we get it.

I have an early hair appointment this morning so about to shower and get ready.  Hope everyone has a good day.  :D

We ended up going out for lunch yesterday which I brought half of mine home so I'll have that today and the chicken curry tomorrow. DH can have his roast.  :D

Yes we loved them JulieO. DH commented that he can have 2 without feeling guilty.

 ;D  ;D

I hope to make a Macadamia and Mango Icecream from Tenina. It is made with coconut cream.

Sounds like a Weiss bar Cookie, match made in heaven!  Please let me know what it's like,  though I expect being a Tenina recipe it will be very good.  :)

That's a shame Cookie but how good to be able to scout locations and try their coffees.  ;D

Thanks girls.  I must admit I don't use my varoma as much as I could so plan on making quite a few of the simple recipes from the book to get me on track.

Tonight, DH will have another serve of the roast etc and I'm having a Michelle B meal from the freezer 'mild chicken curry' that I made a few weeks ago.  I think it's from her low carb book.  :)

Thanks Chookie, yes cinnamon and cardamom are my favourite spices.  I reheated 2 this morning and they did turn out like just baked so am very happy with that.  Will make more once this lot reduces down as I love the idea of having them on hand.  ;D

Look really nice Cookie, I'm really liking the smaller, snail like ones.  I bet they went down a treat with your family.

Yes they do Chookie, have seen some great photos of them swimming along side of the kayaks here.  There was a pod of 4 this morning but they were more interested in diving for fish than anything else.  An early breakfast  :D
