the too easy choc cake got a second as it had a crack on top but tasted good
they like the taste of the peppermint slice not too over powering

last one
they did not like my lemon butter as it was too pale in colour and l did not fill the jar right to the rim
also they like straight sided jars
and my lemons were too dry inside

l had a great time l really enjoy entering the items and do it every year if l can
my grand total won was $9  won it cost 20 cents to enter each item

3 first and 3 second  out of out of 9 items entered

sorry about doing this in 3 posts  l will one day  get the hang of it

Gosh they are fussy - what difference does it make if the sides are not straight on the jar  ???
Great effort, well done.

so l found out that when they are judgeing lots of jars of the same stuff no matter what it is
you gets a certain amount of points for each point
eg  clean jars , staight sides ,good colour ,flavour, fill right to rim ,right size jar ,ect
this is how they decide who wins and it helps them if they taste all the same too
l was told presentation  counts
