Thanks for getting back to me so quickly, Cookie.  What was the brand of yours?  I'm eyeing up a model called "5 star chef" https://www.crazysales.com.au/online-5-star-chef-induction-cooktop-portable-duo-99415.html

Marina, I have a portable electric hob, but only use it when I entertain, to keep dishes warm.  Haven’t had the need to cook on it.  I tend to use my SC more. I have 3 different sizes of these. I think they are a good idea, not expensive and easy to store.
You are welcome to borrow mine to try out.
Yesterday it got to 30.  Stupid me did some gardening in the afternoon, in the veggie garden.  The Chooks helped.  Today more gardening.

Good morning everyone.  So much cooler today and for a few more days as well so that will be nice.  Going out for coffee with a friend this morning in between tackling my wardrobe. Have a great week everyone.

Thanks for the offer, Chookie.  I have actually seen the induction hobs at work (well, the usual domestic kitchen variety, not the smaller ones).  I know the better brands for domestic kitchens, but not sure of the portable ones.  What brand is the one you have got?  I assume it has never given you any problems.  Reviews are few and far between on these portables.

With luck, the electrician is booked to come in this week to swap my cookers around so I am hoping that I can make the decision about a twin hob one by the weekend.

Very quiet on here this morning ... is there anyone out there?  Lovely, though slightly cooler, morning here today.

Good morning everyone.  Cool again today.

Cuilidh, you are right it has been very quiet on here lately.  I know I haven't been on much as I've not been feeling 100% lately.

That's not surprising, Margaret.  Take care of yourself.

Hello everyone, just a handful of us popping in these days and even I can be slack at times if I’ve got a lot on my plate.

I know what you mean Judy, there was a time when I couldn't keep up with everything that was going on on here.  I am very bad in that I only post when I have something to say, but I do very much enjoy reading what everyone else is cooking and catching up on what they have been up to - K Atie leaves me exhausted!   :)

Marina don’t mean to exhaust you , bad enough I am exhausted most of the time . Kids are exhausting and believe me I cannot keep the pace of my friends . Noticed it has been quiet too.

I've been slack too.  I usually use DD's PC for the forum but it hates me at the moment.
Marina I'm sorry I can't help you with e brand of the induction hot plate we had.  It is in the shed somewhere and I can't find it.  DH is having a gumtree sell athon. He says he hasn't sold it.  ;)

Sorry , have been MIA.  In Melbourne now.  Staying in a beautiful apartment in Essendon with DS and family.  They are in temporary accommodation as their house was flooded out just prior to NY.  DD drove us to Melbourne as Ral goes into hospital tomorrow.  We had Dr appointments in Ballarat and tests done in prep for Melbourne. Exhausted and stressed.
It is DIL ‘s Birthday tomorrow and we aren’t able to celebrate properly.  I have made her the famous TMX Italian Chocolate Cake for her to take to work.  Also the musthave Strawberries and Cream.
I will keep you posted on what is happening.

I’m been slack at times posting on here these days. Sorry friends. I will try to be more diligent.
We are having a sunny period of weather here at the moment. At the weekend it might hit 16c which is unusual for February.🌞

I hope the stay in Melbourne goes well Chookie. Hugs to both you and Ral.🤗🤗
