« on: December 06, 2010, 01:11:49 am »
Welcome JenniCB. My machine is a male too (Termite). He does very well in the kitchen and I'm sure is exhausted at the end of every day.
What sort of things do you enjoy making in your TMX?

Welcome Lio and congratulations on your English. Imagine owning a TMX for 30 years. I'm sure you can do some amazing things with it. I've had mine for just 2 years and still love it and am surprised at the things it can do.

Welcome Newmum. What a wonderful idea to buy a TMX, I'm sure it will make life so much easier with a new baby.

I love Singapore.  I look forward to some new Asian recipes from you.

Tips and Tricks / Re: Butter tips please
« on: December 05, 2010, 07:27:20 am »
In the olden days..........when we used to make our own butter with a butter churn Mum used to wash it until the washing water ran clear. I've often wondered what happened to our butter pats when I make butter, they would be useful.

Thanks for this MJ. I'll use it over Christmas. Mum never made this one, hers was the condensed milk and vinegar and mustard.

This looks lovely Judy. We're going to a Christmas 'do' next Saturday and have to take a plate (the host has specially ask that it have something on it) so I might do that.

Cakes / Chocolate Anzac Biscuits with photo
« on: December 05, 2010, 07:08:53 am »
Chocolate Anzac Biscuits
Ingredients
½ cup dried apricots
120g butter
150g plain flour
80g rolled oats
140g sugar
90g dark choc bits
15g coconut
3 tablespoons golden syrup
1 teaspoon carb soda

Turn oven to 1900
Chop the apricots for 2-3 seconds on speed 6. Set aside.
Place butter in the bowl, melt for 2 minutes at 500 speed 1.
Place all the other ingredients in the bowl. Lock the lid and use  :: for around 30 seconds until mix comes together.
Place heaped teaspoonfuls onto greased trays, press down gently with a fork.
Bake for 10-12 minutes.

These are just slightly different to traditional anzacs for a change. I based the recipe on a CSR one.

CP - My mix was very dry so I ended up adding 65g water, probably should have added only about 40g as they flattened a little bit and weren't as perky looking as yours. Never mind, they taste delicious. Adding chocolate and apricots makes them very special.

margi191 - they are beautiful, definitely a keeper this recipe!

Chelsea - they are very yummy. Thanks for the recipe Cookie.

JD - I whipped up a batch of these this morning, put them in the oven, turned around and there was the bowl of chopped apricots looking at me. So, out of the oven, back into the bowl with the apricots and I started over again.  Very nice thanks Cookie. I made about 40 cookies.

Amy - This is an awesome recipe cookie! Thank you. I made it exactly as per the recipe and they were perfect.

Kimmyh - very yummy.

Last night we had Kerryn's Chicken, Salami, Avocado etc fettuccine. It was lovely. Ours wasn't too pretty to look at but very tasty. We followed it with sticky date puddings from the freezer and custard.

The cookbook is a wonderful idea to share Jo. Congraulations. I think bad consultants probably don't last very long.

I think I'll need to think seriously about this as I don't make the same thing very often.
We love curries either meat or chicken.
Baf's award winning chicken and tweaks
Quiches with all the prep done in the TMX
Robyn's beef casserole
and...
