Nothing other than dinner here tonight. I bought some fresh barramundi form up north at Coles this morning so we will have that with AF chips and salad.

Cookie, that sounds nice.  Other than Salmon, our so called fresh fish is awful.

Our fresh fish is usually ghastly too. This is from Cone Bay, up north and is rather nice. Almost as good as that you catch yourself. After having freshly caught fish from Monkey Mia for so many years we find fish you buy is usually awful.

I made a loaf of bread using the Khorasan flour this morning. It has quite a golden colour. I'm looking forward to cutting it later on. I also made a slice.

I wondered what the caterpillar rolls were Chookie. It is self explanatory.

As well as the roast chicken lunch, I made Nay Nay scones and Mango, Paw Paw and Pineapple fruit salad. GS informed all that everything is improved with cream. He has his scones with just cream.
I put the leftover root veggies into the TMX with chicken stock and made a tasty thick soup.

I made some Swedish Cinnamon buns today. I have seen them and on Saturday DD and I shared one with our coffee. I have been bad and checked the ones that I made. They are delicious. The filling is almond meal, cinnamon and butter.

Cookie, they look absolutely delicious.   I love the way the dough is folded to form the bun.
Overnight SD loaf and made 10 SD crumpets from 2 cups of SD starter.
Just had a thorough going over by Heart Specialist.  All ok except Cholesterol a bit high.  Told to cut out animal fats and walk more.  Sounds like hell.  Will do but will make a difference to what I bake.

Cholestrol is a problem.  I maintain that I don't have a problem because I have oat bran with my porridge every morning and that is meant to help (well, it seems to have worked so far, anyway!).  I can't suggest anything to replace animal fats as in meat, but I (and I think Cookie as well) use the buttery Nuttelex in baking; for a cheesy taste there is Nutriotional yeast flakes (also contains B12 which is hard to find if you are mainly vegan / vegetarian), loads of vegetarian and vegan cheeses are now becoming available; no end of milks to choose from DH likes Sanitarium Regular Soy Milk, I usually buy one of the Nutty Bruce almond milks (almond and oat was really nice) - you can't always find these and they are pretty expensive!

You are right, you will have to change some of the way you bake, but you will find loads of substitutes.  I believe most of the puff pastry in supermarkets are, in fact, vegan, so you can still enjoy your Portugese Custard Tarts!!

The exercise sounds the worst to me Chookie. I hate any form of it with a vengeance. Having said that I have been trying very hard to walk a lot more as my back is playing up again.
Good luck Chookie. DH has cholesterol trouble and I tend to use margarine for a lot of cooking or EVOO. It does change the taste but I would rather keep him around. 😀😀

Marina, you are a dear. I am trying to do my best. ( probably not good enough )
Cookie, I had to smile at your comments.  Especially about DH.
Unfortunately we have a family history of Cholesterol problems.  Since I have stopped eating butter, I have discovered who ate most of it.
Today I made my recipe for Tahini biscuits and substituted Alyce’s spread.  It is a little coconut oil, mostly EVOO and a few Macadamia and a few Cashews.  It worked amazingly well.
We are eating out twice this week and I will find this very difficult. Easing up on all the fats, good and bad, has helped my IBS. So not all bad.

Good luck with the changes you want to make Chookie, it makes cooking difficult and we all know how much you love to cook.  I’d rather exercise than cut out unhealthy foods, if I could do both I’d probably have a much better figure.
