Not game to type anymore than that :P do your own googling ;)

It looks ugly.
KA Artisan mixers look so nice (I love mine), but to me that doesn't look great.
-
Looks like it takes up a lot of space. Buuutttt it does come in red.
-
They're coming out of the woodwork now. The Thermomix certainly started a revolution of thermal cooking machines.
-
There are 2 or 3 others as Judy mentioned. The red is lovely. Just imagine a red thermomix, it would go ever so fast.
-
I've had a better look at it on the website and I really like the 'look' of it. I would presume it would be well made too, but I'm just a bit over all these new machines that are coming out now.
For our situation at home another one isn't needed at all but I guess if my TM ever needs replacing there would be other options now to look at first. Would still like one that cooks hotter but I can't imagine not having a TM. :)
-
I did some research on this last week and really like the look of it from their website. I couldn't justify another one but will be interested to hear as reviews start to come in.
-
oops I just put up the RRP - its about the same as a TM...
-
looked at these on Saturday, must say sales staff did not know anything about them at all.
Just the base price.
-
Did they have a recipe book so you could see how to use it obbie?
-
No CP, no book, or even a brochure. I Had to find some one to serve me, They had 2 on display.
The lady was pretty useless, could not answer any questions at all. ???
-
It's on TVSN now.
-
This does look good, and I think the Tefal one looks interesting too. I like the idea of other brands as Voerwork don't have a monopoly anymore. They are all similar prices, so people will have a choice. The 31 may not compete as it is a great machine but I think the 5 would.
-
I don't think I'd give up my 31 for it, but I think they could be good friends!
-
It will be nice not having to purchase party plan style as well. I'm set up but good for the kids.
-
So true Bedlam. The party plan sales method doesn't appeal to me either. I would have had my 31 6 months earlier if it wasn't for that. I missed out on lots of cooking time. ;D ;D
-
This is a really good review for my friend who is trying to decide between the cook processor and the TMX. I have passed it on to her.
-
Let us know which one she decides on Courton.
-
Will do!
-
This is food for thought, the higher temps could be really useful here, I do a lot of sugar work and jam making. Convincing DH I need another thermal cooker may be an issue though!
-
Sounds like a happy purchaser. It seems like with all things, that there are pros and cons to all the different ones out there. It's always interesting to see the options.
-
If your TM is 'walking' when it is mixing a heavy load, try putting it into an empty, clean and dry sink and that will stop it from heading off on illegal travels around your kitchen!
-
I haven't had a problem with either the 31 or 5 'walking' . Except when making Quince paste. I think it might have something to do with the bench material. My bench is covered with a very thick plastic sheet.
-
Thanks for the review DB. Glad to hear you are happy with the KA, it seems like it compliments the TMX well.
-
Interestingly this is not available - or certainly not being promoted on KA's website - in the US ( the home of KA's)
-
Hi all,
I have decided to delete both of DB2567's posts as I feel it broke one of the rules, promoting a competitor product. Member DB2567 has posted twice in total and in both posts, has been more or less "promoting the KA product".
Sorry for any inconvenience caused....
Wishing you all a great weekend
MM :)

Obviously we can only post the bad things about competition to our thermies on this site. It's a shame about this. As I thought forums were for discussion.
I am using both machines , side by side , most days.
Cannot see the benefitof staying with this site any longer .
Does anyone know how to "cancel" membership?
It was a helpful site 6 years ago when I was new to my thermomix.
-
That is not true db2567, there have been many discussions of other machines on this forum and other subjects as well which have occasionally crossed the line but the rules clearly state you cannot compare other machines to the TMX.
I see you've been a member since 2009 so you would have seen the forum grow and change to what it is today. You would have noticed MM has had to change the rules along the way with the introduction of all these new thermal machines coming onto the market. I'm sorry you feel you have to leave us after all this time although I see you have only recently posted for the first time, what a pity you had never joined in the discussions in regard to the Thermomix. We hate to lose any members but if you are set on leaving us, just go into your profile and hit the 'delete this account' button on the left hand side under 'Actions'.
