That's sad news Denise and I'm glad you're down there supporting the family at this time.  Please pass on my commiserations to Bev.

So sad Denise. You will all be thinking of some lovely memories tomorrow, I'm sure.
May all dairy items in your fridge be of questionable vintage.

Denise, I'm sorry for your families loss, however they must be finding some comfort in sharing some wonderful memories that come with a life of 97 years.

Hi everyone,

Not been here for a little while as both DH and I have been really sick since getting back from Adelaide early last week.

It seems we picked up some sort of lurgy which hit us 3 days after getting home.  We’ve both never felt so sick as what we’ve been; splitting headaches, fever, sleeping on and off, snivels, hacking cough (DH) and for me a complete loss of appetite.  I’ve lost almost 3kg in 6 days, not from loss of fluid as I made sure I kept up with my water intake, but just from hardly eating a thing.  I’ve made a conscious effort to eat the last 2 days and have gained back 400g which is great.  We even drove down to the beach at lunch time yesterday for some fresh air and sunshine as we’re fed up being in bed/cooped up in the lounge.  It was nice to get out and we managed to do our usual walk, all be it a bit slower than normal.  I’ll leave the early mornings for a little while until fully back to health.

DH will be returning to work soon, at least I’m fortunate not to have to worry about that.

I never thought I’d say it, but I can’t wait until the weather starts to warm up.  I can’t remember ever feeling so cold (and miserable).  I usually love winter but not this year.
Hope to be back on here properly soon, take care.
