Judy the green tomatoes are un ripen tomatoes.  They are a good replacement for stewed apple in recipes and of course are used in pickles and sauces.  Because the weather has been so cool, they have not ripened. If they show a blush of colour, they will ripen inside. Surprisingly they are not bitter.  Today I’m going to start a batch of Mustard pickles.

I made some vegetable soup for lunch. Quite silly really as it was so humid. I also made a lemon and blueberry cake.

An interesting question K Atie as I’ve not had that problem.  Mr Google came up with this though, perhaps you could try it.
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 cup of water
Mix the lemon juice and the water and submerge your sliced fruit in the liquid. Let soak for a few minutes and you’re good to go.

Your soup looks nice to me cookie, luckily I’ve been able to have it all summer.  Cake looks good too.

K Atie, I think that is what cooked pears do.  How brown they go depends on the type of pear.
Visitors for afternoon tea.  Scones Jam and cream, coconut slice and curried egg sandwiches.

Some nice cooking happening ladies.

Yesterday I put some some nectarines on to stew and then forgot about them.  I will be lucky if I can save the saucepan and the kitchen smells terrible.

That’s one of the benefits of the TMX Margaret, these things don’t happen.  I hope the saucepan you used isn’t one of your best ones.

Oh no!!  I made a Rustic loaf this morning from Cookido. DH was helping a friend paint his FIFO daughter's unit ready to sell. She has already shifted but is a bit of a procrastinator, so they are painting it while she is away. Then she can sell it when she comes home. I made it for the friend.

DD is coming for lunch tomorrow.  We are having a Roast Vegetable Quiche with salad and Strawberry Fluff for dessert.

Mab, that Quiche looks amazing. Bad luck with the burnt pot.
Cookie, nice loaf.  I made 10 Brioche rolls and from the same recipe made a loaf.  We had ham and salad sandwiches from the loaf for Dinner.
