Fabulous cake Margaret 8)

Great effort going to Yoga three times a week Gayle. I love cooking meals in my SC :D

I've made a Gin and Tonic cake to take to a friends house tomorrow for afternoon tea. I'll report back on how it tastes. ;D

CC, that cake does sound interesting.
Cooking roast Chicken lunch and toasting Hot X Buns for morning tea. We are expecting the man to fit our Solar Security gates.
Will make another Coconut flour chocolate slice. Low carb.

Obbie, your fruit cakes sound delicious.  I love anything with ginger it.

I roasted a small piece of beef to leave for DS, a batch of Cornflake cookies to take with us, fried up some tomatoes to put in the freezer, and there's a piece of silverside in the SC.  I also have a loaf of bread rising.
The  man who said it can't be done should not interupt the woman doing it.

It's always busy before you go away Margaret. I do the same, although DD is more than capable. I guess its just being a Mum.

Mab and Cookie you're making me feel guilty  :-[  A little while back I decided that I wasn't going to organise dinners etc for the "children". I thought I'd encourage them to cook for themselves.  Found a book called "The No Time To Cook Book" with heaps of easy recipes that take less than 20 minutes and I put that out on the kitchen bench before we go away :) It's still in mint condition :-))
Today I made more Icelandic Banana bread, more Oatloaf and Savoury Mince with brown rice for dinner.

That loaf looks delicious , Djinni.
The gate installer didnt come today.  Coming tomorrow as well as Hot X Bun girls and then DD and family for dinner.
I cooked lots and divided it into meals.  Massive Ratatouille, mashed potato for 2 meals, falafel, garlic bread and prepared yellow beans for 3 meals.  I baked a Chook with carrots and pumpkin and will reheat this in the BBQ tomorrow.  The oven will be working flat out cooking buns.
Tomorrow night I will have a nervous breakdown.

LOL.  Good luck with everything Chookie, way too much going on at your place, you are entitled to having a nervous breakdown.

Wow Chookie. I think you should have another hot cross bun instead of a nervous breakdown tomorrow night :) You'll have earned a little treat!

The children are all in their 20s Judy  :-)) Certainly old enough to do a little shopping and food prep.

I don’t know about Margaret but I often get told by DD that she is quite capable! Mum's forget they aren’t babies! Last time we were away for over 2 weeks DD even made her own bread. She found bought bread wasn’t too good!

I made some Hot Cross Buns today.  I used Chookie’s recipe and they turned out beautifully. I even had one.

They’re super cookie.  Did you use a glaze, the tops don’t look sticky like most home made buns often do.

Cookie, they look great.  Better than the ones we made yesterday.  We made 3 dozen.   I found that with the new flour that I had to add another 50 mls of milk.
Because one the the people that I was giving them to has a digestive problem, I mixed the fruit in at the beginning.  They didn’t rise as well as the others.
The one in the photo is one of these with the fruit added at the beginning.
