Cookie I like Kathy Reichs I have read some of her books.  I have not heard of the other two I wil check them out. Have you read any of Karin Slaughter?

I have read a couple of Karen Slaughter's books and enjoyed them. I downloaded a Stuart Macbride the other day.

My favourite book store, now that Borders have gone is Kinokinmuya or something like that. They have one in Sydney and an enormous one in Singapore. I actually get lost in it. I still buy some paper books as I want book stores to stay around.
Must agree with Gert too.

Kinokuniya is my favourite bookshop as well!  They are very helpful as well, but do not discount even popular cookbooks.

Had to rush off to the library today in the  rain. Suddenly realised I read the wrong book for my book club meeting on Wednesday. Thought it was Light between the Oceans. - which I really enjoyed. It was Swimming Home by Deborah Levy! Will have to do some fast reading in  the next couple of days. This is what happens when you belong to two book clubs!

I've finished the Casual Vacancy - great book, JK Rowling has no worries about her credentials as a 'real' writer IMO. Almost finished Practical Jean, then will have to decide what to read next. Past Imperfect sounds interesting, I really enjoyed Snobs when I read it a few years ago, think I still have a copy.
Wish I had more time to read....  :(

I've just started my book club book, Still Alice by Lisa Genova. I've only read 40 pages and I feel so sorry for Alice. ( she has beginning Alzheimer's ) it may well be a tear jerker. I'm loving those 40 pages though.

Not too sure I want to read that book cookie. I would have to be in a happy frame of mind.

Let us know how you liked it further on.

I've started reading books from a list of 1001 books to read before you die that I found online. Just finished Life of Pi and loved it. Now I'm reading a book called Flatland, which is totally random!

I know exactly what you mean Gert. She is showing symptoms and I do the same things. It is a genuine worry. I haven't forgotten the way home yet which Alice did a couple of times early on, so hopefully I'm safe. She is young too.

I have that waiting to be read JulieO.

I am wondering if I will finish Forever Alice. I am finding it very disturbing. I should perhaps just sit down and finish it and then I won't have lots of nights to think about it. Lisa  Genova has a new book either just out or coming out about autism.

Just finished "In Falling Snow" by Mary-Rose MacColl.  I read this as part of the Australian Women Writers Challenge on Good Reads - a challenge aimed at attempting to address the bias against women writers in Australian publishing by raising the audience for their writing.

Thanks for that, I do like her books, but I did worry reading Still Alice that the dementia could happen to me!! But I found the end quite comforting
