I really hate the name, as I've mentioned on that review.
Hot Mix is what they put on roads.  ;D

I think this new more expensive machine(the gastro, or whatever it's called) may be excellent for professional kitchens. But, for home use or small cafe's etc, I'd still go with the Thermomix.

Is the HMP sold using the Direct Selling method? I think that's a big plus for Thermomix, in that consultants (well, good consultants) are there for you after purchase. I also love the fact that so many recipe books are appearing for the Thermomix.

That said, I'd like to see a HMP in action.
A great cook is one who can rustle up a fabulous family meal with some freezer burnt chops, wilted carrots, sprouting potatoes and cabbage that's gone brown on the cut edges.

I love my TMX. But when it dies (not for a very long time I hope) I would love to have other machines to look at before I replaced it. I love this way of cooking. It seems so quick and with little washing up.

I'll look forward to Tenina's comments.
May all dairy items in your fridge be of questionable vintage.

Wow I am all for competition in the marketplace and the HotmixPro seems as though it is closer to the TMX than other machines - can only be good for those in the market for the best way of cooking. I agree that HO will need to lift their game  :)  :)

I've had a look at the hotmix pro site and they have some interesting recipes to try.  The stats say that the motor is more powerful however one recipe for a marinade mentions 30 gr each of leek, onion and 10gr ginger on speed 10 for a minute. My thermie completely annihilates onion at speed 4 after 7 seconds so I'm not sure what I'd be left at.

I love my thermie (Pierre  :)) I just wish he'd cook onions properly although my demonstrator who has returned  :) mentioned that she always uses red onions and doesn't have the raw onion problem, as I don't generally cook with red onion I'm planning on using Pierre to chop the onion and I'll caremailise them on the steve as always and then add them back in.

I think we all have our own way of cooking our onions ... I cook mine for 5 mins, varoma temp, speed 1 and MC out  ;)

Also where she mentioned about the dials and buttons on the TM being confusing, I think the TM is so easy to set, only takes 2 seconds. (but I have had mine for quiet awhile now and it's second nature
ryan was cooking full meals completely independently at 7yo with the thermomix. not sure what her intellectual capabilities are lol

I have no problems with onions either. 100, speed 1, 5 minutes. Scrape down occasionally.

Whoever sponsored her to write this review was smart.

I'd really prefer it if people would write reviews and be honest about their bias rather than pretending to be non bias but actually are. I like reading bias reports. If everyone wrote bias reports we'd truthfully know the pluses of all the products!

Things I'd want to know: Visable thermostat? I hate digital controlsI had this on a previous machine and it was a pain in the butt!

The higher temperature is probably the only selling feature for me. And it's ugggggly! Lol.

I'm not TMX loyal either but it needs to be better than that to sell my TMX and fork out even more money.
