Most of us have been guilty of burning a saucepan Troupie.  The vinegar and baking soda works for me.

Had a friend in for morning tea this morning.  Then went to the chemist to pick up a prescription and the supermarket for more veggies.  Can't believe what it cost me, everything is so ear these days.

Shortbread

250g SR Flour
185g Butter
90g Sugar
60g Semolina or Ground Rice - I used semolina

1. Preheat oven to 200 deg. Line 2 baking trays with baking paper.
2. Put all the ingredients into the TM bowl and mix for 15 - 20 seconds on speed 6.
3. Set the dial to knead and knead on for 20 seconds or until the mixture comes together.
4.Tip the mixture onto a silmat and bring it together into a ball.  Wrap in cling wrap and put into the fridge for 1/2 hour.
5. Roll into a sausage shape and cut into pieces.
6. Place on baking trays and prick the tops with a fork.   Sprinkle with sugar if desired.

Turn the oven down to 150 deg and bake for 1/2 hour, then turn the oven down again to 120 deg and bake for a further 1/2 hour.

My oven temperature fluctuates so mine biscuits cooked a bit quicker than the stated time.

This morning I finished a baby blanket for my eldest GD.  It's only 20 years late  ;D ;D.  All my GC recieved one when they were born except the first one, I was working in those days and not much spare time.  This one has been a work in progress for most of last year.

Your food looks lovely Chookie.  I have never made SD bread.

JulieO your cake looks delicious.  I could eat some of that right now. :) :)

Today I have made 4 blackberry pies, 1 apple pie & 1 raspberry pie with some left over pastry.  I'm keeping the raspberry one and sending the others out to the family.
