Love the sound of your old school chum get together Bron - this is something all women should get the chance to do occasionally. How many nights are you having together?

It was great Bron - do you wash in cold or hot water? We do cold washes here (no greasy clothes to worry about) and I had to help the white goo sort of dissolve at the beginning although I'm sure it would have done so in it's own good time. I'm Mrs Impatient and wanted to see if it made bubbles or not so gave it a hand. Think I might dissolve it in hot water next time and just add that mixture to the load. Probably used 1/2 cup and it wasn't frothy but then washing powder isn't either if you use the recommended amount. So cheap to make and will last me for ages - I only need to wash every 7-10 days - aren't I lucky!

She probably used chicken fillets and I still maintain thighs are more succulent and don't dry out as much.

I've done this one before and the hardest part was mixing the coco pops through the melted choc and butter mixture. Now, our wonderful TMX can do all the work for us.

Wow, these picnic parties sound great. We hold our picnics in public parks, never in our own backyard. Maybe we just call our gatherings at home BBQ's . Nice of you to check in - nice to know where people are and that they haven't fallen off the planet.

Hey Thermomixer, that wouldn't be enough liquid would it? Using Bron's 1.3 litres makes a gooey mixture, the lesser amount would be too stiff I would have thought. I have my washing machine going as we speak so will post my verdict later.

I made Karonjulie's apricot slice again tonight but made it half with apricots and half with apple. Didn't read the recipe correctly and creamed the butter and sugar, mixed in the flour and then realised I should have had the eggs in with the butter and sugar. A very forgiving recipe - it let me add them at the end and still turned out well. ) ) ) Also made Bron's washing machine liquid - that was fun. Trying it for the first time tomorrow - still not sure how much to use.

Thanks Riv Mum, nice to see you trying something different. I made a little note in the book to do this one in the future.

Bron, have you got a front end loader? Mine is a top loader so there is no compartment to put it in. I think the front ends use less than tops, don't they? If I can get the soap when I go to the shops this morning, I will be making this later today. Does it froth up?
