My Mum used to make it for our breakfast sometimes when I was a kid, she always did a cooked brekky because I didn’t like cereal. DD2’s family loves her fry-up on the morning after Christmas Day, she cooks heaps extra veggies so that she can do this.

Cookie I was completely unaware that the storm even happened in Adelaide until I saw the 4 pm news as nothing happened here. I messaged my GD to see how Glenelg fared and she was like me, knew nothing about it. I’ve been very lucky in the almost 30 years that I’ve lived here, even the rain rarely comes this far down the peninsular.
Ladies if I didn’t make the effort to go to the Wellness Centre I know I wouldn’t exercise at home, some mornings I don’t feel like going (especially in winter) but we have a great group of ladies and it’s fun. The social aspect is as good for us as the exercise.

Well done Margaret. Good luck on Thursday Chookie, it seems to be something all senior people need to have done at some stage. Have fun in your kitchen with your visitor after the op, I’m sure she’ll learn a lot from you.
I went to a different exercise class this morning, it was fun and something different to the gym work I do on 2 other days. I also had my heavy work gardener come in with his offsider for an hour, I can’t believe how fast these guys work and how much they can do in an hour. I also had a visit from an old friend for a couple of hours as well.

Is this your first Covid bout K Atie? It continues to spoil people’s special plans but on a smaller scale, I hope it doesn’t hit you too badly.
Well done on your controlling diabetes cookie, you’ve done so well for so long now.

Whatever would someone want to throw perfect food out cookie, I bet they didn’t own up to it.
Margaret you’ve been very busy cooking for your family, lovely catering once again. Happy birthday to your GD.

I enjoy cooking for the kids Chookie, they have a healthy appetite and it keeps me from forgetting how to cook altogether.

He is really good to me Marina, often rings me from Melbourne, always brings me a gift and shouting the meal when he takes me and his Mum out for a meal. I really enjoying cooking a meat meal for him, DD doesn’t miss out - I did a potato & spinach frittata for her plus a RTE curried lentil dish this time.

K Atie do you have a commercial machine for toasting all those sandwiches? It’s a good thing you enjoy cooking, workers need so much food each day.
The slice looks nice cookie, I used to love macadamias and I loved them in biscuits.

I made RTE’s Braised Beef Short Ribs in Red Wine Sauce for my Melbourne SIL who arrived today (DD is vegetarian) along with mashed potato, baked pumpkin, carrots and broccoli. His thoughts on the recipe? ‘That was the best meal I’ve had for ages. The meat and gravy were spectacular’. https://www.recipetineats.com/braised-beef-short-ribs-in-red-wine-sauce/I bought 4 ribs and as this cut of meat is quite fatty, after they were cooked I removed the bones and excess fat then added the meat back into the sauce. I left the veggies in the sauce option and there was enough for another meal tomorrow.
