After eight with orange sounds lovely as well. Will check the shops to see if we have them in Holland.  If not, no problem, we are going to France in May for à week's holiday. :D

the orange ones arent around all the time and arent as common as the mint but seem to pop up now and then...they should be around though in the easter period..if you are going to paris though or a major city you should be able to find them...they also have lemon now and then...mmmm

Catsia Jacq is in Holland and she was after the orange ones which arent in europe all the time just have the standard mint ones all the time and special occasions they bring out other flavours or in the summer sometimes....like in summer in europe there is alot of different choices available in all ranges of food products but in the winter or in between seasons there isnt alot around except your common products I guess because most people socialise alot in the short summer months so entertain and therefore buy more and the rest of the year tend to stay indoors  :)

I made this for Christmas and used Lindt mint infused chocolate as I couldn't find the thin after dinner mints, and it worked a treat, yummo!

Managed to get a box at the local IGA, the orange ones, only one box there. Not the After Eight though.
Only 150gms in box so added 50 grams of dark choc, only 250 gms of vodka and 50 gms of triple sec.

It tasted wonderful.

Needed longer cooking though because the orange in the chocolate really didn't want to melt.
Tipped the mix into a large bottle and waited for the bowl to cool a little then added the triple sec and turboed it for a second or two to get all the orange out from around blades, then added that and the vodka to the bottle and gave it a really good shake then into fridge.

Will try this recipe with choc and triple sec instead of After Eights as really hard to find and will report back on taste.

LOL, Chookie!  Two pluses there - you could get to the back of the frig (not a given at my place) and you found your delicious science experiment.  Big smiles all round and thank you.

Hi everybody,

Just got my Thermomix last Tuesday and I have been trying all sorts of things from the (Dutch) Thermomix book, this forum and the German Thermomix forum. I made this liqueur today, it's a recipe from the German Thermomix site. Since I could not find it here, I thought I would post it. If you all have it somewhere, or you don't want me translating stuff from the German site (www.rezeptwelt.de), please let me know. I did tweak it a bit, since the recipe asked for 500 ml Wodka and I thought it would be a bit too strong.

Ingredients:
50 gr sugar (I used organic sugar, learned a lot from Chelsea already...thanks for your lovely blog, Chelsea!)
200 gr After Eight chocolate
300 gr cream
300 gr Vodka

Put sugar in bowl, 10 seconds on Turbo.
Add the chocolates and the cream. 4 minutes 50 degr., on 1.
Add wodka and stir 10 seconds on 3.
Put the liqueur in a (clean) bottle and put it in the fridge.

I am enjoying a wee glass as I write this. Cheers!! ;)
