The muffins were lovely.  Also made some savoury ones. Pumpkin, Carrot Olives and cheese..also another plain loaf.  Made 1 1/2 recipe.

Th muffins look nice Chookie.  I always keep a packet of Apple & Cinnamon muffin mix in the cupboard for unexpected guests.
Yesterday I made the Belgium Lemon Teacake.  Instead of using the lemon filling I used some apple and raspberries from the freezer that needed using up.

I made some steamed choc chip muffins. I don't think they are too successful.

May be OK served warm with custard as a pudding cookie. A steamed muffin doesn’t sound too appetising really.

This is Chookie’s recipe that I made the other day. I put it into my cast iron casserole but I should have put it into a larger container. DH loves it, so next time I will do that.

Don’t fancy steamed muffins, but worth a try,  you never know.
Cookie, that loaf look lovely.   Am still missing good bread.  The G F stuff is just ok toasted.
Will make Muffins for morning tea for us and Gardner. Will invite neighbour who is batching at the moment.

I made a Lemon slice yesterday, took half with me to a friend, the rest will do for afternoon tea this afternoon.

I was planning to do some cooking this afternoon as a friend was coming over in the morning. She has now rung and asked me to over to her place as her sister is with her, hence no cooking needed.

Was reading an item on what chefs cook when they are too tired after work to prepare a proper meal.  I particularly liked Ottolenghi’s suggestion.   A couple of tins of crushed tomatoes to which he adds a tin of smoked oysters. I suppose served over pasta or rice.  Don’t think Ral would like this but I certainly would.

A loaf of No Fuss Bread and some Apple & Cinnamon muffins from my emergency supply.  These are for the handy man's morning tea.

A disaster with my bread.   Firstly I put quick oats in the dough instead of oat bran so I knew it would be a bit heavy.  Secondly I forgot to take the glad wrap off the top of the tin before putting the bread in the oven. :-)) :-)) :-))  Not sure how I am going to get the melted wrap off my tin.

Ouch Margaret.
I made Quicker than a packet cake as an orange cake. The cake tin was empty.

Mab, that is a real disaster.  I placed a hot bread tin on plastic and it is very hard to remove.  I think I used a paint scraper.
No biscuits in tin.  Better fill it.

Luckily there was no plastic taste in the bread.  We just cut the top off each slice and it was fine.  Not so good for the bread tin.  Some of the plastic just peeled off, the rest I scrubbed with a scourer and have managed to get most of it off, there are still one or two spots left that just won't move.
